Gift Exchange: Winter Holidays 2009

Basenji Talk

  • Winter holidays are around the corner and since everyone liked our last years basenji forums winter holidays gift exchange so much we decided to do another one.

The way the gift exchange will work is that you send us (giftexchange@basenjiforums.com) the following:

    ###############

    Forum Member Mame
    First Name, Last Name
    Dog(s) Name(s)
    Full Mailing address

Gift Ideas - (please include here dogs sizes, likes, dislikes,or just anything important you feel your basenji buddy should know about you and your dogs!)

    Will you ship overseas?

    ###############

Once we receive all the submissions we we will draw the forum member names out of a hat and send everyone their basenji buddy. Then you send off a gift to whoever you were matched with, and wait for your fun gift to arrive from your very own basenji buddy. We will discard all the personal information sent us after every basenji buddy has been contacted.

This exchange will work solely on the honor system. There is no way that the forum moderators or anyone else on this forum can enforce that people fulfill their promises to reciprocate an exchange of gifts with another member. If people sign up and don't meet their end of the bargain, it ruins it for everyone. So please if you decide to participate make sure to fullfill your gift promise.

    The rules and guidelines are:

    • Please don't spend too much on the gift. Suggested limit is $25.
    • Addresses should stay confidential, do not disclose to others
    • Please do not post private contact information (email, phone, physical address) on the public forum
    • Make sure to send the gift in the timely manner
    • Only open to Basenji Forums members
    • Please send in your registrations by December 1, 2009 if you want to participate.

By participating in this gift exchange you agree to our forum rules. Under no circumstances shall Basenji Forums or any of its associates be liable for any damages resulting from this gift exchange program.

So, there you go, lets get on with it and make this Gift Exchange a huge success. If you have any questions about this program please email giftexchange@basenjiforums.com.

  • NICE!! :D :D Tillo still plays with his presents!! :D I'll talk to Tillo about his wish list ;)

  • Chance and Kiyas presents survived for a very long time, they really liked them. We had to trim and fix the toys a couple of times because they started eating the string and the insides.

  • Hehe.. I bet the TP was gone in 60 seconds ;)

Edit: the pics of them unpacking are too cute :D

  • This year I am wishing for indestructible toys. I already know that anything with inside stuffing will not last for longer than 1 day.

  • @Alex:

This year I am wishing for indestructible toys. I already know that anything with inside stuffing will not last for longer than 1 day.

If it's made from anything other than steel/metal or concrete, Buddy will destroy it. Please let me know if you find anything. :D

    This is about 5 minutes.

  • This looks like so much fun…I wish I could guarantee I would be near a post office I can get to. It's so hard to fine somewhere an 18-wheeler will fit.

Y'all post pics of your dogs with their presents??? I'll get something for AJ and post it with you. :)

  • Geez…...here I thought toilet paper would be the perfect gift. Light weight, easy to ship, and loads of fun for the B.'s

  • Great! 6 members already signed up.

Please make sure to send in your registrations to giftexchange@basenjiforums.com by December 1, 2009 if you want to participate.

  • TP (and tissues) - hadn't thought of that - add that to the wish lists! :D

  • Great idea, would like to join in next year when we hopefully have a Basenji

  • Just a reminder. Please make sure to send in your registrations to giftexchange@basenjiforums.com by December 1, 2009 if you want to participate.

  • I can hardly wait this looks like it's going to be so much fun. Jaycee's first Christmas.

  • I did not get it.

  • I wish everybody that entered the gift exchange a lot of fun!!!

Our winters here in Australia are not like yours in New England - we don't get snow where I am, but do get hard frosts. Cold days are 14C, but situated where I am on the side of a hill, the wind off the snow area 75 kms further up the valley can get a bit lazy - prefers to go through you rather than round you!! And as we all know - Basenjis don't 'do' cold!! My Swedish boy is cuddled up in his bed in front of the heater beside me. Silly boy still gets his summer coat in our winter!!

I got my package on Monday!!! :) I haven't had time to update but Dallas loved all of his gifts! He loved the loofa dog! He was carrying it all around the house with him Monday evening. He & our family dog have been playing tug of war with the rope that he received. Oh, and Tuesday he found the bag of milkbones on my dresser while I was at work…thankfully he didn't eat the plastic bag  The bones, obviously, are gone. Such a pig

sorry, Luzern, was the City. I always mix them up. My Granny did speak a little Schwizerdütsch but she was originally from Vienna and has learned it through the Years. She passed away more then 20 Years ago, but I still can remember the smell of Luzern and of special things around her. Regards, Esther

If the wax doesn't work, try muttluks…my B wears them. It's funny at first for her, but she adjusts and takes her usual walks with them. Keep us posted on how the wax works...very interesting!
