@gianna said in Looking for a female pup: as far as i can afford to go... I think @zande was asking what distance you would be willing to travel.... 10km? 800km?

Hi Gretchen. CBR in Colorado does have a pair of R&W seven year-old siblings: Cairo and Cleo. However, they would have to be adopted together. Here is their website: http://www.coloradobasenjirescue.org/adoptable.shtml. However, CBR is not moving doggies right now due to the COVID -19 issue. I am looking for a male puppy or very young male right now. Just not happening. Looks like patience is key right now :0)

I am very interrested in helping you and her. I live in Richmond, Va and had to put my Baby Girl down this past Labor Day. She was 11 shy of her 16 and one-half birthday. I got her when she was 4 months old. I am a stay at home mom and would have plenty of time to spend with her. If you would lick to speak more with me, send me an email and we can exchange information. I noted that you said that she does not like other dogs, so I wanted to let you know that I have none. Again, if you would like, please email me. dallasdog96@gmail.com (and, yes, her name was Dallas and she was born in 1996!)

@dmcarty: Understanding however that breeding carriers to clear is the option that allows to include the widest genetic diversity. Breeding only clear to clear reduces the diversity in the population - shade of what happend to the breed during some of the other health concerns like HA, PRA and Malabsorbtion. Hopefully we learned that throwing the baby out with the bath water is not the most effective way of keeping valuable traits while eliminating health concerns. +1…I could not agree with you more!
