Hanna the soon to be Podengo mother
-
For those of you that have seen pictures of hanna before and know that she is a Portuguese Podengo Grande Smooth and I have her and the only male Buster. (he lives with a nearby friend)
We are expecting puppies with the due date of May 28 - june 2. Thought you might get a kick out of how 'gynormous' she is.

boy, that is a grande
-
Wow, at the end of the video (at a distance) she kinda reminds me of a small goat, LOL! Bless her heart, she is "grande sized" now… But, she is still a cutie!!!:D:D:D:D:D

When are the puppies do?
-
For those of you who would like to - I do have a little poll of sorts going on on the website below - you can guess the date and the number of puppies. Winner gets to pick a registered name for a puppy (as long as it's not offensive or gross.)
-
Bless her heart….she even has a pregnant waddle!

Oh my Diana, there's certainly a bunch of little ones in there! Good luck and happy whelping. :) Can't wait to see what you get. Sorry to hear about your daughter, yikes!
I met up with Mary Dixon at the lure trial a couple weeks ago. She has wirehaired medios over here. What a hoot she is! lol We chatted about Hanna and had a good time talking about the similarities of our breeds.

wow, she even waddles, just like I did when I was 9 days out…poor thing. What an amazing feat though, to have the first litter in US...good for y'all and for Hanna. Let us know how things are going. Do you know how many pups to expect?

Staring at about midnight - Hanna started whelping the first Portugues Podengo Grande litter in the US. At noon she surprised me with a 'bonus puppy' so the grand total (unless she downloads another one) is 11.
9 boys and 2 girls. All look hale and hearty. Mom did such a good job I didn't even know she was having them
go to the whelping box to see some first pictures.
