Not soap ! - sponge the area with warm water or a proper dog-shampoo (used sparingly). If in doubt, consult the vet. If it is an allergy, perhaps you can think back to when they first occurred and identify something ?

My Basenji (tri) , Seeka now 8 yrs has developed lots of spots on her belly and neck. As a puppy she had a few, now lotsof them. Can anyone tell me why? Is this normal?

@elbrant - Correct, "freckles" so to speak and they will become more pronounced as they age...

My Kembe had the freckles on her neck - more pronounced in summer months w/ the sun and also as she aged. I use to call her my little
giraffe.
