spotted stomach

My Basenji (tri) , Seeka now 8 yrs has developed lots of spots on her belly and neck. As a puppy she had a few, now lotsof them. Can anyone tell me why? Is this normal?

I always thought they were just "freckles"... are they something different?

@elbrant - Correct, "freckles" so to speak and they will become more pronounced as they age...

My Kembe had the freckles on her neck - more pronounced in summer months w/ the sun and also as she aged. I use to call her my little giraffe.
