My Basenji (tri) , Seeka now 8 yrs has developed lots of spots on her belly and neck. As a puppy she had a few, now lotsof them. Can anyone tell me why? Is this normal?
@serenjane
My Kembe had the freckles on her neck - more pronounced in summer months w/ the sun and also as she aged. I use to call her my little ๐ฆ giraffe. ๐
Not soap ! - sponge the area with warm water or a proper dog-shampoo (used sparingly). If in doubt, consult the vet. If it is an allergy, perhaps you can think back to when they first occurred and identify something ?
thanks for the input from all. i am treating him with vet's + best for the hot spots. they and he seem to be getting better. he's working on terrorizing his 3rd ll bean bed as we speak. today's his 3rd birthday so he can do whatever he wants!!!
Thank you all for your help with our issue. I will take her the vet on Monday to find out what is going on and then I willl update everyone.
If it's not blood what else could it be? Even if it's not blood should I still worry? Any questions I should I ask the vet?
My vet told me I could give a whole benadryl tablet for his seasonal allergies. I sometimes give him half a tablet and hide it in some cream cheese. I boiled a chicken leg with some rice, carrots and green beans. His stool seems to be getting better since I gave him 1/2 an immodium last night.
