Lost Basenji in Russia

    There is a lost Red/White Basenji female in St. Petersburg Russia. She is safe right now. She has a microchip that was never registered. I think the dog may have been bred in Hungary in 2007 and relocated to Russia. Would anyone here know of any breeders in Hungary that might be able to help out? She has a tattoo that says 3232 and the last digit is hard to read. It may be a 7. I would appreciate any help!

    I see this is the one already posted. Good luck in finding her owners. I wonder if there is a basenji rescue or local shelters or anyone in the area that could be contacted in case the owners have contacted them?

    From what I've gathered, the dog is in a Basenji experienced home and she can stay there as long as she has to. The people that are caring for the dog have contacted know breeders in the area and have placed ads in the newspaper and online. Members from BRaT and Basenji Club of America have this cross posted. There are a lot of people, local and internationally, trying to help this Basenji girl find her way home.

    @melduff I for one think this is FANTASTIC news! You guys are so lucky! You have a one of kind super dog with the papers to prove it. Walks around the neighborhood and trips to the dog park are going to be very much fun... Friendly neighbor: Oh, she's so cute! What kind of dog is she? You: Thanks you so much.     There's nothing like a basenji in the works, from the way they instinctively lay with their had on the bum looking the other way ( I've never met a B that doesn't) to the way you KNOW they all rub on wet towels or play bow…it's all very endearing and in this breed you often identify traits that they all have, an insight into their genetics and their behaviors. I've never enjoyed a breed so much.

    Oh Barklessdog, you are a brave person. I must now stand with you in insane-solidarity and admit I bought it too. It is awful but when you get the line "we couldn't say goodbye so we took him home" part, you know you got to help support the woman. lol

    My Basenji Billy is quite undershot; he's a purebred, his bottom jaw just didn't stop growing when it was supposed to. That's okay, I'm a bit of a sucker for a dog with an underbite anyway.:) He was my first rescue Basenji.

    I'd suggest getting a food delivery puzzle. 3 of my 4 dogs get their breakfast that way (including the young malinois). You may even want to get more than one and rotate it. And a chuckit.

    OMG, TRUST me…its not only ur baby, Jack has some seporation anxiety, i mean, we rescued him so that may be why, but i Always feel so sad when we leave him, he runs to the window and crys when we leave, but i KNOW it wonly lasts until he cant see us anymore (driving away) my neighbor watched for me. but SOMETIMES he does get into things when we leave for too long. like the other day, when he ate my betta fish food...grr...
