Simon and his sister
-
Simon turned a year old yesterday! He's doing very very well. He's always going to be a little on the reserved side, we think, but that's cool :) For his birthday, he found a dead mouse on the sidewalk. He's pretty peeved that we wouldn't let him keep it. (I don't know why the iphone pics so often seem to deform basenjis. He is very straight in real life!)
We also have been very fortunate: Debbie's Klassy litter had a little tri girl. We're about to buy the house we're in, we have been looking for a possible buddy for Simon, we do love those tris, and all the pieces seemed to fall into place. Of course, house buying always takes longer than you plan :) So while all that works out, the little girl (Annie) will stay with my sister. This does NOT seem to be a hardship for her, haha. We'll go stay for a week at a time every few weeks.
We tell Simon about her, but he doesn't seem impressed yet.
I would add more pictures, but I'm terrible at adding pictures, so I'll see if John will put more up later.

Happy birthday Simon….amd congrats on your new sister... She is adorable.

The sire is Reveille Tricycle Two.
We very much hope to go up this weekend, but so far weather has been interfering! Lucky I'm patient. And lucky Gloria doesn't mind taking dozens of pictures whenever I ask.
Should be very nice pups…. I really like the Sire and of course I love Klassy
And Happy B-Day to Simon

Simon, Nayru offers this advice. When you see something fabulous, pretend you don't until you are RIGHT on top of it.
Then?
Stop.
Drop.
Rollllllllllllllllllllll! At least you will have the scrumptious scent with you until your mean, horrible, awful mama wipes you down with dryer sheets.
What is it with humans and gagging over the best scents? Sheesh.
Happy birthday. Can I have all your bones?

And she's home!
We're in the exhaustedly happy chaos that is Day Two. Simon thinks she's cool, but wonders why she is still here. We stayed with my sister for a week to get her used to us, and that made the transition pretty easy. They crate fairly well together already, although I am trying not to put too much of the puppysitting on Simon, since he's young himself!
She likes us and our liver treats.
When we get more unpacked, I'll post pics, if they haven't eaten the camera by then.
