So you are looking for a dog to show? A lot of breeders are not willing to sell intact dogs outright because of the risk of them being bred without good health testing and thorough screening of future puppy homes. And also a lack of spay/neuter contracts. They don't want their well bred dogs or offspring of those dogs ending up in bybs and puppy mills and people who won't have the breed's best interest at heart.
I know some good show breeders can be intimidating, but don't give up. Also, most puppies from responsible breeders are already placed at this point. You'll be hard pressed to find a dog still available from anyone reputable. You might have to settle for getting on next year's puppy list. But there may be a few folks willing to place a young adult that needs to finish still?
How did you get interested in showing? What are your future plans for your puppy?
