    So I posted on the Lawton OK Craigslist PETS section seeing if there were any other Basenji owners in the area to suggest a play date. And surprisingly in Fletcher (SMALL town nearby with barely 500 people) someone emailed me who has a Female Basenji. I havent seen her yet but we are going to set up a play date sometime soon! :) Anubis is going to have a new friend! I was very surprised to actually get a response…especially from someone in such a small town!

    Owned by Anubis and Casey (the Pitbull mix)!

    @theoriginaldev As others have said, an older dog would be better on neutral ground. A puppy will probably go really well. From my own experience, a bit of initial posturing from the older dog, then when they realize it’s playtime...the games will commence. Good luck!

    That good news, Dennis - and you are likely to find, in the long run, that the older boy will teach the pups far more than you ever can. They'll get their street cred from him !

    She's very cute. Congratulations. Keep in mind that Basenjis are not that common, which means a Basenji mix would not be that common. That said, the down ears don't necessarily mean anything unless they're never up, and the ears are up in the other shot. So it's possible. The markings are definitely right. As suggested, if you really want to know a DNA test will be a lot better than guesses.

    So so true Lisa!!! What a difference it makes. The only problem is now I have to convince my family that even though the dogs seem great they are not the same easy going trustworthy dog that their schnauzer is! grrrr
