@zande - I have place pups at 9wks, but typically to prior Basenji owners, they know the "ropes"... also I do eyes at 9wks, so 10 works better for me in placing pups and yes...(LOL) mine are raised in the home, no kennel.... and the breeders that I know that use kennel runs, still have their pups in the house for house time and "education".....

Yes agile, it's Gromit
The course lasted 8 weeks and involved basic commands such as sit, down, stand, stay (10 secs),basic recall, meeting a strange dog, an unknown human, play with a toy and give it up, walk on a lead in a controlled manner. They also have to tolerate a bit of handling, ie ears, teeth etc.
Owners have to be aware of the legalities of dog ownership and care.
Now we have signed up to do Bronze i am a little worried because someone has told me you aren't allowed to use treats
Malaika is the type of girl who wont do anything for nothing
Thank you everyone for your lovely comments.:) -
I bet you'll be fine for the next level. I'm sure your instuctors will tell you how to wean Malaika off the treats. It's really about increasing the duration of work-time before rewarding.

Congratulations to Malaika and obviously to you as well Shelley. She looks very pleased with herself and so she should!
