3 New Collars

Basenji Talk
  • I love the one with the fur on the inside! And I like the white stitching on the chestnut leather.. :) It only needs some decoration :D And maybe 3 inches is a bit too much…

  • Very nice collars and leads love the fur one. I maybe having a New Year's just don't see but how do we get a hold of this man please.

  • Awesome! I've been looking for a leather quick release lead for coursing. Zoni's breeder has ones for her dogs (not as nice as these though) and they seem so durable. Thanks for sharing. The tooled ones are gorgeous.

  • very nice collars! I too like the ones with fur very much!
But I prefer the collars with a buckle ( is that the right word ? ) I found a leather studio in germany who makes exactly what I want, they are so pretty and of such a perfect quality and not expensive and they made mine with my own design to stick!
still these martingale with leash collars would be very easy to use at racingtracks and coursing, hmz maybe I contact them :D

Yes, that contact info is right - thanks for posting it. I had a hard drive failure on my computer and all contact info was on there, so sorry I didn't get back on here sooner with it

I need to sync my iPhone w/computer once in a while so I'm not out of business when one or the other doesn't work. :D :D

I got a package from Bolduc yesterday with their invoice and it matches the numbers you've posted.

Please post pics of your collars :D. I've seen a number of collars from companies overseas (that don't ship here) that I would have loved to order had they only shipped here.

  • I will take some pictures of them and my dogs wearing them :) I have only ordered 2 for my ibizans and 1 for my galgo, but my basenji male and other ibizan hound will get similar too, just need to think of a nice design :D I try to do this this weekend so please be patient :D
I also like the fact that they put metal rings on the holes for the buckle, so it doesnt tear out the hole, as most collar makers, put only the holes in it and not metal ring and then sometimes they tear out, ehm I hope you get my point, it is hard to explain in english …

  • I definitely understand what you are saying about the rings in the holes :D. Your english is great BTW. ;)

  • Just ordered a plain black one with lead for Bella. Thanks for posting!

@jalex said in New pup!: @senjisilly i read in quite a few different places that looking at their teeth is an issue. She wont let me do anything actually but she does let me hold her. Its been a rough week. As with any dog/breed you need to be sure theyre a fit for your family and so far if she is a B I'm struggling to believe itll work out but we're trying! I appreciate the input and guidance, thank you! She's a puppy. Her behaviors are puppy behavior... period. Puppies bite, they do what they can get away with. She is darling, she definitely looks very basenji. But if you really have doubts, contact basenji rescue and let them find her a home while she's still a puppy. Frankly, I suspect you are letting BASENJI close your vision. They have quirks, but overall no better or worse than most breeds. All dogs take patience and that you be at least as persistent as they are. At her age, she doesn't get the option of "won't allow me to do anything." Without yelling, hitting or rough behavior, you really can turn it all around. Right now is the time she must learn you can check her teeth, look between her toes, check her ears, etc. At some point in life, it may be critical, so training her NOW is important. But it can also be relationship building and fun. :) Mary has one of the easiest to follow sites. You just start working on training so that she comes to see you as the one to guide her. To entertain her by helping her use her brain. It will be okay. :) Training on left, issues on right: http://www.clickerlessons.com/index.htm You have a world of help here, you can do this. :)

http://www.woofandwag.com/servlet/the-1/Puppia-Dog-harness,/Detail I use a Puppia harness for Shelby. It's been a life saver since she does like to pull a bit. I can guide her much much easier. We don't leave home without it.

Thanks for all the help. I got the martingale one for now. Maybe I'll get the hound collar later, but I figured I'd get the kind I already know and swear by.

Thanks for your replies. I've started giving Sonia Glucosamine w/ MSM every day and we'll see how she does. I'll give you an update in about a month and let you know if it's helped or not.
