• Here are several of Ella sleeping, mostly in the sun. The first picture, where she is curled up in a tight ball, is the way she sleeps most of the time. I assume this is common but I realize I have not seen any other pictures. Does your B curl up into a ball?

  • She is lovely! Like the one with her head resting on her leather chew! I have had some that curled tight in a ball, others who stretch out. Some too chubby to curl very tight!

  • Sonny starts out like pic #1 at night under the covers and then I wake up to the last pic and I'm hanging off the edge of a queen size bed and he's spread out like a king!

  • @sonnyboy:

Kananga is the same. He expects me to wrap him up in his fleece blanket. Then he gets too warm and his paws are in my face in the middle of the night.

  • my 2 b's sleep either on the couch, where I am expected to cover them up, or the circle beds by the computer, where I am expected to cover them up..the only time they strech out is when they are under the covers in the bed, allowing me 5 in of sleeping space. Laugh

  • Ella looks so happy and relaxed - very nice pictures. Right now, we sleep with lots of cats on the bed, and similar to Sharron, I often sleep within 5 inches of sleeping space. I also don't move when they are laying against me, even if my leg is cramped because I need to turn over, because I don't want to bother them. Are animal lovers nuts, or what!

Ella looks lovely. I love b's in the sun, they look so "this is how it is supposed to be".

Otis sleeps in a tight ball at night and if he is really tuckered out..or stick straight legs out, "if you bend them they might break kind of style"..both ways makes him very happy ๐Ÿ™‚

  • First Basenji's

Awww, I love these. I especially like the one where she's using her bone-treat as a chinrest, haha. Our new Basenji girl has only been sleeping in the curled up ball position for now. She's new and uncertain of her surroundings yet, and has been accustomed to being crated for long periods of time. Looking forward to when she learns to stretch out like our own dog and your Ella.

  • Mine curl up tight into balls when they feel that they aren't warm enough. When they get super hot they then stretch out again.

  • Mine sleep in all sorts of positions.

When we brought our first B home, we had 2 cats, a GSD and a BC. The cats slept on the bed every night and that night the GSD came up too. The puppy B also slept in the bed. I went to bed before Douglas and when he came upstairs he decided to sleep on the floor because he didn't want to disturb the comfortable animals!!!!!! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
