There is someone right down the road from us who owns two minipins - my b's get along just great with those dogs, so AJ probably will be happy with a new playmate!
Question for our Canadian friends:
-
Does CKC recognize "Goldendoodles" as this ad implies?
Just curious. Thanks.
-
CKC most likely does not mean Canadian Kennel Club in this ad. It is probably Continental Kennel Club

My thoughts Exactly

I didn't realize any kennel club recognized cross-breeds. In my neck of the woods, there are other ways of describing them: Heinz-57, Pot-Hound and Mutt are the first descriptors that come to mind.

Ah, but that was the old names for these hybrids. Now the PC term is anything with "oodle" at the end. It makes the mutt sound exotic and more desirable .. but still unrecognized by the national Kennel Clubs.
I just laugh now when someone tells me they have a whateveroodle and how unusual and rare it is. "It's still not a recognized real breed - you won't get another whateveroodle if you cross it with another whateveroodle but probably a whocaresoodle. It was a scam and you got took." -
My understanding is CKC, here in the states is just that, the Continental Kennel Club, and it is not far from a junk kennel club..

Love it!!!
I have to say that I know a labradoodle and it's a really nice dog, both in character as in looks..

Golden doodles and such are not accepted by CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) standards by any means. It probably is the Continental Kennel Club. A mutt is a mutt is a mutt. IMO I groom several, including a few as one lady states-multigenerational-and there is no consistency at all in any of them.

CKC (not the Canadian Kennel Club) is NOT a "real" kennel club. It is used by BYB and PM's to get around AKC's DNA requirements

Whateveroodle!! I love it! I'm so going to use that.

No no no. If we're going to be PC, the correct PC term is "Designer Breed." Because you don't want to leave out the "ugles" of the world (pugles & the like), and it sound so fancy, like a dog Paris Hilton would have.
I love it when people assume my girls are some unique & exotic (mixed breed) designer dogs, and they are always dissappointed when I tell them "No, its just a unique & exotic purebred primitive dog that's been around much much much longer than designer dogs."
I actually had somebody at the dog park ask me if they were basenjis one day, and I replied Yes they are. They then asked "So they're miniatures?" I said "No, they are both within standard, just at the very small end of the standard." They insisted again they were toy basenjis. Whatever.
