Welcome from one newbie to another. The folks here are wonderful so you will be well taken care of.
Thanks for the pictures. I especially like the look on his face in the picture with the lady Basenji. You can almost tell what he is thinking.

Thank you. Just when I thought I had a handle on all this, I discover more to learn. Hmm, guess you can teach an old dog new tricks!
Thanks again for your help.
You can try searching Sally's database, http://pedigrees.zandebasenjis.com
If he is not in the database please provide his registered name, registration number, sire and dam and we can get him listed and see if it turns up any relations.
Thank you for the quick reply.
He does not appear to be in the database.
His registered name is: Explicit Friday Java Boy
Date of Birth: November 13, 2009
His AKC number is: HP36640103
Sire: CH C-QUEST'S JUST PUSH PLAY
Dam: CH SIGNET EXPLICIT RUNAROUND SUE
Also, is there a "key" to what all the various letters mean?
Such as CH or C-, etc.
Let me know if you need any additional information.
I was button-pushing too quickly.
Can this message be deleted?
Thank you.
I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this inquiry but if not feel free to move it.
In September we welcomed a bounding 10 month old boy into our home and hearts. Today I received his AKC Registration card from the previous owner and plan on sending it in to have the ownership changed. My question is, is there a means of finding litter mates? I'm just curious what/where they may be.
I tried searching the AKC site, but that proved futile. His registration information was there but nothing about littermates.
My kids were excited to see his parents, grandparents and great-grandparents, but they are interested in his brothers and sisters.
Thank you for any direction you can provide.
Sorry, we have been a little too busy to post lately but the good news is that Snickers has a new friend We received a 10 month old red/white boy into our family. I will try to add a couple of pictures. We still miss Daisy but Java is keeping us all hopping. As you can see, even Snickers has accepted him.
Many of you have been kind enough to have read my posts and I thought you might like to meet my babies. Daisy is on top of Snickers in the baby pictures. She is the one that just passed and is missed by all, but especially Snickers.
In the picture with my girls, Daisy is on the right.
Thank you for your openness in helping another broken-hearted Basenji lover.

I agree with all the above and would add that as I have been looking for an additional dog, I have been shocked at the number of scams out there. Fortunately I have the resources to check out the stories that seemed shaky but even I have been surprised at the lengths they go to to defraud people.
One of them even had faked a health certificate CHI certificate. You can only imagine the reaction of my kids when they thought we were on the path to our new family member only to tell them someone was trying to rip us off.
Anyhow, I do feel bad for those that do not check out the full story.
Jennifer;
Thank you for the reply. Exercise is not an issue as noted above. My 15 yr old runs 5 to 6 miles a day and the younger ones do about 3. We also walk a lot as it is a small town and the neighbors, most of whom are elderly, really enjoy dogs that don't yap at them. LOL
