Robyn Dubbert is in north Georgia outside Atlanta, she may have an available basenji. She has very nice dogs! You can find her on Facebook, Sherwood Basenjis. IF you are in south Ga, Gale Whitehurst is in Thomasville Ga, also has lovely dogs. BRAT (Basenji Rescue and transport) is of course in every state and often has many more dogs than on their website . Good luck, whatever color you end up with, you will love, I promise.

First off, Welcome to our site of valueable Basenji information. I have learned so much linking into this site, we have lots of laughs as well. My B, Sahara, crosses her legs all the time, she is such a showoff and often has the regal queen look. I love the look myself, they are such beautiful dogs I must say, not that I am partial or anything. Your Piper is so cute, welcome again.

@WriggleysMom: We've always had rescues and I feel like I've missed out on puppy antics, so I'm debating. Toby doesn't baroo or wag his tail and I really miss being met at the door with a welcome baroo and a tail trying to wag itself off!! I had a puppy and was getting the urge for another but now we have a 7-mo old foster and I can't take my eyes off her. I remembered I really did not miss that!

She is darling and you are now OWNED by a Basenji!! Mine is a mix (basenji and whippet) and she still does the B500 through the house (furniture is ALWAYS involved). My Hollie only digs after seeing other dogs do it… a learned behavior(?). I agree with the forum members who suggest crating Abby, for her own safety and your piece of mind. Hollie has gotten out of the dog lot where I work about 4 times. She is NEVER outside without me now. I couldn't stand it if something happened to her. Good Luck!!

Welcome to the forum, I'm sure you'll have lots to add with that many years of Basenji experience…enjoy! Ditto on the pictures!
