Great work, well done to both
Blackpool

I will be taking my caravan to Blackpool too. We are arriving Wednesday leaving Sunday.
I would check the schedule Jess, they wont let you take your caravan onto or leave the showground while the show is on. I don't know if you can at the end of the day, it says the duration of the show I believe.

Yeah, I think we are leaving Saturday evening, driving to Derby show and spending the night there for the show sunday
My mum has arranged it all so will blame her if i get stuck
-
You will probably be not far from us at Blackpool. You arrive and they park you the same as if you arrived in the car, no searching for a pitch, I prefer it, so much easier.
I wish we had realised the Derby show was do-able we could have entered too!
-
I dont think there are any basenji classes, infact, im pretty sure Maya is not even entered. We're doing that for the pugs, and cos i LOVE agricultural shows!
Will definately have to see if we can find you on the campsite. I will be taking several walks around to exercise all the dogs so will come across you im sure. Or, if Maya falls out of the caravan window again she might find you herself!
-
I looked at the caravan slip and you can arrive on Thursday, I thought Saturday was the last day but it isn't so we may be there until Monday!
We are sure to see you on the campsite, I hope Maya doesn't fall out of the window. I have wire mesh that I put over the windows so they don't escape, it gets awfully hot if you can't open the windows!
-
Look foward to seeing you both there on the Hound day.
-
Good luck to all going:D
I'm not going but have a prospective puppy buyer going along to meet the breed and stud dog owner. Does anyone know the judging order so I can tell them?
-
I believe we are first in the ring at 9am, only 26 entered, sadly it clashes with the world show.

Thanks Gerry I'll let them know:)
Actually when the entries came out I thought they were a bit on the low side until I realised it was the WS that weekend. How many people from the UK are going over do you know?
-
I have no idea who is going over to the WS, I don't know of anyone. It's not a judge I particularly want to go under, I was persuaded to go for the caravan break.
At least she hasn't been over Pip before!
Shame you're not coming. We are in ring 3 BTW

I only know of Tracey but not sure if she is just showing her other breeds or not. Trish is going over but don't know if she is just specating or showing but apart from them don't know who else!!
Ah well it will be a nice break for you but have to agree it's not a judge I would rush to go under really. I probably won't be going south of the border until I have my next puppy out next year as not many judges I fancy this year to be honest:rolleyes: I would normally come down for LKA but as I will hopefully have a litter I won't be going this year plus the judge doesn't suit;)
-
Who is the judge??
Worried now lol!
-
Isobel Dyke, she has judged before so I would think the unimpressed southerners would give it a miss. I saw her give a B pup a puppy hound group at a champ show that had no legs and has since been re-homed. The pup was short in leg not the show
I hadn't intended going but got talked into for the break. Caravanning with the dogs is sometimes more enjoyable than the actual show. We have met a lot of different people in different breeds and found out so much about them.
ID originally had afghan hounds. She started out about the same time as I did, quite a long time ago.
-
Ahh.. Well, could be an interesting one! Its not a judge i've ever heard of, but very few of the basenji's are people I know of anyway so thats nothing new. We're going for the same reason as you - Nice weekend in the caravan and im told Blackpool is lovely for caravanning! So, not expecting anything in the ring, I definately wont be nowβ¦!!

I hope to go to LKA, she gave Rufus RCC at his first show. She also wanted to use him at stud but when Rufus came back a carrier she couldn't as she was one of these people who at that time wasn't really convinced about the test and hadn't tested.
She did test her girls and they both came back clear but too late!
I might also have a litter this year so may have to miss it too.

You never know Jess as she gave Millie BOB when she did LKA in 07:)

Oh, thats interesting.. At least she doesnt have the problem with tri's that some judges seem to have!
Well, if we get placed great, if not, we will still have a wonderful weekend and Maya will love it im sure She loves the caravan!

Ah well at least you stand as good a chance as any then as you know she likes him. For me it is more personal reasons, nothing to do with her not liking my dog;)
-
They do love caravanning don't they. I will feel guilty leaving Rufus and Kia behind.
The judge also gave Millie BIS at the Hound Show in Scotland a few years back. I have everything crossed for you Jess, you could do really well, about time too!
We will just see what happens!

No comment Bloomin' judges!!!
I actually really enjoyed the more relaxed weekend at SKC when we camped. Didnt have to rush about at the crack of dawn getting ready, just got up and had a chilled out morning. Maya thought she was on holiday, she just loved it!!
