Great picture Lisa. I have never seen a lurecoursing in action, but hope I will one day..
I would love to go the Nationals as well, but moving to a new house puts a kink in a lot of summer plans…lol.
Gizmo's back!
-
Nice shots of Gizmo having fun. I have had Buddy for almost a year and never saw him get mad at other dogs getting too rough at the dog park until last Sunday. Maybe he was exhausted from 1-1/2 hours of running/play but a white fluffy dog his size arrived at the park and they were playing OK until it got too rough and he lost his temper and laid into him. No injuries though, I had to pick him up and carry him out. The lady was nice and asked if Buddy was OK.

Gizmo is all grown up.
-
4 nods now for his great looking head. I tend to prefer the smaller ears. I love the pics where he is on the picnic table playing with the other dog. Nice to have you back.
-
Gizmo is gorgeous! In some of those pictures it looks like he is getting "snarky-face" quite properly when the other dog is doing the same - I'm sure he'll handle himself quite nicely.
-
Those pics are nice, what kind of camera did you get? I'm looking for a new one.
-
Where's the puppy gone?!
Just watched some older videos of Gizmo yesterday.
So thanks for the new pics! He is gorgeous -
Hey, thanks guys.
Never really noticed if he had small ears, I guess he takes after me…
Today Gizmo cut his paw on some glass as we went for a walk along the seashore. So no dog-park trips for about 1 week....
Those pics are nice, what kind of camera did you get? I'm looking for a new one.
I got the Sony a550 package that came with 2 lenses. I switched from Canon (sold all my equipment for the same price as the a550 package!), and am absolutely thrilled with the camera! Gonna stick to Sony thats for sure! Save a lot of cash on lenses since it has stabilization inside the camera house.
Here are some pictures from April 19th. Hope you guys don't mind "big" images.
Love the eyes of that dog behind Gizmo!
This sweet thing is 9 years old and acts like a puppy! Jumping and running around like crazy!
Something smells here….might be the 2 bums? :p
Gizmo going for the attack!
Gizmo was actually scared of the puppy….
Everyone welcomed the "new" black dog as he entered the park.
Gizmo: This fluffy thing is mine!
As usual Gizmo is back on the table…
Gizmo loves Russell terriers!

Gizmo is Fab. Welcome back.
Add me to the list of Small Ear lovers.

So sorry to hear that Gizmo stepped on some glass. I hope he heals soon. It angers me that people simply toss glass around. It sticks around for a very long time and is so dangerous to those enjoying the beaches.
-
Oh my goodness! He's grown up to be so handsome!
-
He is very handsome! How is it going with his separation anxiety?
-
Thanks for the great pictures! What a good looking boy. Do you know what kind of dog that fluffy black one is? He looks like a ferocious teddy bear.

Pretty good. I have managed to reach 4 hours now. I leave every day at the same time (10 AM), and head to the library where I do my studying.
He is not supposed to go much longer on the drugs, and I have been lowering his dosage as we go now. He is now taking only 50% of his normal dose.
At the same time I am also increasing the time I am away. Today I was away for 4.5 hours and he didn't seem to mind much (just one or two "I missed you" whimpers when I entered).
So tomorrow I will try leaving for 5 hours, if he is just slightly more uneasy than he was with 4.5 hours, I will stay at 5 until he is okay with that until I try for longer. My goal is to leave at 10AM and come home at 4PM, which is close to when a normal work day would end. Once he is good with that, I will start leaving earlier at 9AM and so on….
Sigh, it's actually hard work staying away for so long when you have no job! Sure I can study, but 4-5 hours every day? Sheeesh. Thank good I have my laptop with some games installed.
I think I will start taking movies with me too. :pThanks for the great pictures! What a good looking boy. Do you know what kind of dog that fluffy black one is? He looks like a ferocious teddy bear.
Hehe, I forget. At first I thought it was a Che-Che (or whatever they are called), but the owner told me it was only 9months old and still had a lot of growing to do! I'll try to find out the next time I see it!
Oh and thanks for all the wonderful comments so far guys!

No kidding! Actually, I caught Gizmo chewing on a HUGE piece of glass! Luckily the edges had been softened from age, but can you imagine if it had been sharp! He would of cut up his tongue and mouth!
Needless to say, I will not be letting him loose at that area any more!

He is lovely and another fan here of the small ears:D

Looks like an Akita puppy to me.

What kind of drugs is he on?

What kind of drugs is he on?
It's called "Clomicalm", which contains 20mg of Klomipraminhydroklorid. Not sure what it's called in english, but I suspect it's something similar…maybe switch our the Ks with Cs?

Just a question, but why would you leave Gizmo at home for such a long time when you don't really have to be away..? In my eyes no dog should be alone for that amount (6+ hours.. and I won't leave Tillo 4+ hours alone) of time.. but that's just my opinion of course..
-
And the black pup looks like an American Akita to me. He still has a lot of growing to do though
-
Because I am on my last year of studies, and I naturally aim for getting a job. It would be cruel to just suddenly be away for a full days work without warning. This way he is gradually getting used to me not being home.
I understand not wanting to leave them alone, but I do need to work!
I have spoken to several people with dogs that work a full day (9 hours), and it's not a problem. The dog usually sleep anyways.
