I've tried bait and no bait in the ring. I think bait works better for Logan, but not for me. He likes it and responds to it well, but as a new handler it's a pain in the butt. I know what I'm expected to do. Doing it once in the ring is hard. I get caught up in the minute and then forget what I'm supposed to do the next. I once stacked Logan backwards on the table. D'oh! Logan is SUPER food driven and he knows if I have cookies in my pocket. That's all he'll pay attention to. Jumping on the handler is frowned upon. Yes, I know training and time will cure it. Not there yet. Too many hobbies. Showing, breeding, MGBs, stereos, astronomy, motorcycles, family, friends, travel, house, etc. I need more time.

@Roux I have to live with the dogs 24/7. The judge sees them for maybe 3 minutes. My preference tops his/hers !

As far as I know (by how the rules were a few years ago) you are correct Clay. All you need to finish a dog is an ERN number. You don't even need that to show the dog…but you want to apply for it after she wins a point, or else you will lose any points accrued. Usually I wait to get an ERN until the dog wins a point....that way no money lost if I choose to not show the dog in Canada again. Canadian shows are sooo fun...and the people in the BCOC are really nice and welcoming, and the prizes are awesomely generous. I always enjoy it so much when we can make it to their National.

Thanks everyone!! I do love doing the Stakes classes, its always nice to put your dog up against other breeds, and you get to chat to people with different breeds which i enjoy :) We were not at all disappointed about the finals though, obviously it would have been lovely to get through, but she is such a very young baby it would have been quite amazing if she had! Its just so lovely to have been put through on her day, im so proud of my little Maya :D Was a very good weekend for the pups. The current pups are just doing so well, what with Sparky getting his tickets/BDs, the little girl getting BIS at Northern and of course theres been a few getting BPIS's at open shows like lovely Poppy - it must be fantastic for the breed :D
