Left out the toilet paper again

  • You have truly gifted basenjis, that is quite a mess!

  • Hmm I'm thinking there getting the house ready for christmas…. alittle early but atleast there thoughtful LOL :)

  • Aww - it's been so long since the last time. I'm sure Dr. Chanceler forgot about it and had another party. :D :D I kind of feel bad for your tri-girl. She looks so sorry. ;)

  • hahahahaha… ow.. don't we just love them...

  • I guess I'm lucky, mine have never done that-and I leave the bathroom door open. The boxenji did take the toilet paper once from the roll and ran all through the house with it leaving a long trail, but no shredding. Looks like they had a lot of fun though!

  • Just trying to make it "snow" in the house for you.
    Laugh.
    Thanks for sharing these photos…
my b's like the long trailing toilet paper..
Makes a nice path down the hall into the dining room...

Oh sure… I bet that she sat in front of a mirror to practice that look!!!! :D

  • Wow. Hahahaha. That's too funny! Thankfully Dallas hasn't started going after the toilet paper….yet ;)

  • omg, thats hilarious! thankfully, my dogs have not figured out that toilet paper comes off the roll. But if I leave a paper towel or napkin on the coffee table… they're all over it.

  • It looks like the tri is about to have a need for all that TP strewn about!

"I just want to be prepared, Mom!"

Toilet paper, the next greatest decorating medium.

  • Let it snow
    Let it snow
    Let it snow!

  • My last male would the paper off the dispenser.

  • Enjoyed the pics & story. Just another reminder for me of things to do, or not do. Makes life enjoyable, doesn't it? Got to love them. They're precious

  • I babysat the dog next door one day (shep. cross) and I accidentally left the TP out after a grocery run. Needless to say Tyler introduced his friend to the joys of TP destruction and the neighbors never really forgave me.

  • LOL Thanks for sharing! That looks like the scene around here lately. :) We've all been getting that nasty bug that's going around, one by one, and the tissues have been flying for the last month or so. Now my kids are normally very good. They don't mess with the TP in the bathrooms, they don't get into the garbage (unless there's a really stinky carcass in there), and overall pretty much mind their manners. But if there's a tissue that fell on the floor or was left on an armchair or coffee table, then they feel it's confetti making time! Roxie is usually the culprit, she has paper sonar or something. And I can't seem to get my family to clean up after themselves. Argh! :)

Luckily I was the one to get sick first, so when I'm sent to do clean up duty I'm not too worried about it. lol

  • Luny doens't mess with the TP (he's on the older more retiring been-there-done-that side of life) but leave a roll of paper towels anywhere near his crate where he can reach it and pretty soon the crate is stuffed full and overflowing.

  • Quote by kiroja….. "(unless there's a really stinky carcass in there)"....

Had that problem here, too. I solved it by freezing the left over carcass, fat, skin, drippings, whatever, in the store shopping bags--reuse, reduce, recycle... then trash it outside on garbage day.

    No smell, no worry!!

  • I was at the office when that picture was posted on the forum. Little did I know that was what our "beasts" did to our home while I was away.
I wonder who left the TP out?????
    Alex???? LOL

  • LOL Vanessa!

Snorky, yes I love how they train us to take care of things. lol Well we have a mini Ft. Knox garbage here. It's a solid wood frame and heavy lid, so the dogs can't mess with it too much. It's just a matter of remembering to flip the lid down when something really tasty gets thrown in and the bin is almost full. :) When I had the cheap plastic garbage can, I just made it a habbit to leave the "goods" on the counter for a day or two, until the trash was somewhat full. Then I made a trip to the dumpster soon after tossing everything. Really my kids are very good about things oddly, it's more when there's puppies around or when I'm doggie sitting my other kids. lol Heck I've even left a half eaten bowl of hamburger helper on the end table and went to bed. Woke up in the morning to find the contents still there, and at least one dog didn't come to bed until AFTER I did, and they had all been lying on the couch nearby I think. Eerie!

I am not in your area, but ... you should know that dog training is about teaching you how to interact with your dog, as opposed to teaching your dog how to do things. Most area Kennel Clubs offer training where you are your dogs partner in the class. The things you will learn will last your lifetime. I applaud the non-punitive approach. A lot of people fly off the handle when their dog chews on the wrong thing, or doesn't quite have potty training down. One of the best things you can do is give them love when they do it right and don't react when they don't. Recognize that he's just a pup. You can trade an acceptable chew toy for your shoes, and you can avoid the problem by closing the closet door so your pup can't get to your shoes. Accidents will happen and learning to potty doesn't happen overnight. Just provide a lot of verbal love when the pup gets it right and don't react when he doesn't. Love and praise are the best tools in your training bag. Congrats on your pup. Can't wait to hear about all of your adventures!

@Vicki: You are in CA? Do you mind telling me where? Must be up north? I'm a Sacramento native. I live in Sacramento! Not too many B's here. I understand you are not around here anymore… Do you know anyone in this area with B's?
