Uh-Oh…Drama

  • All I can really say is My heart goes out to you, Jack, and your family… If I were to say everything that I feel right now and what I would do to this guy, I would get kicked off of here. I wouldn't call animal control on his dog or cat because it is undue stress on that animal. But I would find other ways to make his life miserable... :evil grin:

  • Kira, you're an amazing person! I really admire you for all that you've accomplished with Jack and for dealing with this situation like you are. God bless you!

    Well Put!!!

  • I've been out of town for a few days and just read this post. Sorry to hear about this. Glad that you will be moving soon. I would be in a big fit.
Even though you'll be moving soon and dont' have you pup back yet, have a camera ready to record the neighbor and or neighbor pet trespasses; in fact make the camera really obvious so the neighbor sees it or better yet get some cheap security cameras from the pawn shop or walmart and stick then on the outside (they don't have to work) in obvious places. Then the night before you leave, pick up all the poop you can find from the neighbor's pets (or anyothers you can find) and dump all just over the neighbor's side of the property line. :)

  • I just saw this as well. Unbelievable. I can't imagine what my hubby would do in the situation. It would be more than my dog in jail. I would definately have a camera in the back yard and a lock on the fence. (Ican't remember if you had a fence or not. ) I would have to think of a very malicious recourse. It may take me some time. You are nicer than I am.

  • Thanks for all your thoughts! I had a talk with the neighbor, and it went surprisingly well. We discussed our problems and decided to move on from there. Are we friends? no. But we are going to be civil and keep to ourselves (the wives talked, husbands are both out to sea) She had no idea I saw her husband with Jack and shes was very nice about it and sorry. I think things will be a little better, but im not letting my guard down!! THANKS again…SIX DAYS!!!!

  • You are so good! I would have been too angry to be civil. I think it shows amazing strength of character, by speaking to her and trying to work through everything.

    Major major kudos to you.

  • I'm very impressed with the way you handled this situation. Looking forward to seeing pics of your reunion!!

  • I am impressed too…. Hopefully poor Jack will not have a set back when he comes home... but don't be surprised if he does... would not surprise me at all...

  • Did you get Jack back? How are things going?

  • I'd love to hear how Jack is doing. Please let us know!

wow! nic memories! Here on my city my sister cant belive that people even stop theirs cars to ask "what breed is your dog"? some people get pictures with the cellphone or with their tablets so a walk with my girls on the downtown is a secure chit chat with the people. A remember 3 ladies, they were so amazing! Maca dont put so much atention on people specially girls, but those ladies was talking to Maca saying she was sooo pretty sooo sweet sooo everything and Maca start to bend those ears and make noises they were more happy and carry on and Maca more and more sweet Whilw They was saying Maca was soo sweet and bla bla and i was thinking.. ha! she is a little naughty and sometimes so dominant.. but that day Maca plays her role to perfection. She deserves a Oscar.. Other day she was confused with a male chihuahua, a lady ask if we can breed our dogs, i said, well is a SHE and is not a chihuahua, the woman start to apologize i dont care well.. i dont like Maca be confused with a male dog, but was funny at the end. But on general people use to think they are like foxies or pitbull or little deer. I said to some kids that i was ironing the tale all days to get curled. They believe it and i was worried they try to iron his own dog, so i said that noooo! that was natural and ironing a dogs tale is a ugly idea. Oh one day i lef Maca with the policeman at the bakerys door ( he was at my sight anyway) and when i was out i found the man with several people asking him if was a police dog or some kind of new police dog because looks so nice and so naughty hahha The poor man have no words and just was smiling while the people was taking picture of him and the dog. lol So the last time that i walked with my sister she was wow! i cant believe it.. the people stoped to ask what breed is.. Yes, my girls are used to some fame.. and i like they socialize with the kids.. not so much with the grown people and with so many thief getting his eyes on pure breed doggies not so nice but well… i said the are naughty some times.

well he's fine with everyone BUT the vet himself. its not like hes angry when we go to the actual office. then again he just doesnt like to be touched and seems a bit bipolar to me. ( he really is a basket case. hes attacked my hands, severely, drawing blood and causing brusing, twice last week without being provoked at all )
  • Oh, I forgot to crate you up?

Thank you JoeyQ for getting this thread back on topic :) Not that puppy mill/responsible breeding isn't a good thread… :p and there might be one on this very forum. Nice to see so many Basenjis that go against (somewhat) the stereo-types. I feel lucky because Jenny was a 7 month old shelter dog - stray - and really must have had a good upbringing because she has always been very handle-able (one of my friends picked her up and stacked her show dog style the first time he met her) and really only fussed (like the dickens!) in the crate the first night or two. I would remind those who are having difficulty crating: your emotions are a factor in how your dog reacts and adapts. The stress of hearing their cries, and worse, often puts an owner on edge enough to subtly (and often not so subtly to most dogs) encourage the behavior. Earplugs help.:o

Thanks to everyone for the great suggestions! I read about the poo in the console too, yucky! There will be 4 of us and the 2 dogs, so hopefully we can keep them out of trouble.

LOL…. these are soooo funny...... Recently my husband picked up Bandit off his lap and positioned him back on the chair trying not to wake him..... well Bandit screamed blue murder holding his paw up.... My husband and I jumped with fright, I accused him of being rough...... he can be heavy handed..... my husband swore his innocence...... Alfie the Lowchen came barrelling in licking Bandit thinking Bandit was hurt.... what a circus!!! We gently picked Bandit up checking him all over and gently put him on the ground..... then all of a sudden Bandit ran down the hall with Alfie in hot pursuit!!! Wwwwelllll!! My husband and I looked at each other in utter amazement and both shouted Bandittttttttt!!!!! Talk about Oscar acting!!!! LOL
