People post mixes here and on Facebook all the time thinking the are a basenji or a mix.. This one is one of the few that really might be! She's probably mixed but I have seen purebred capped basenjis and ones with heavy ticking. A dna test would be interesting!
Her ears look a bit more rat terrier than basenji and the breeds have such a similar look that they get mistaken for each other a lot. I have a friend with a red/white standard rat terrier (show dog) who had a docked tail and is constantly mistaken for a basenji.

Hello everyone,
I currently have only one Basenji boy, Toby, who we got as a rescue when he was already 4. He is currently 11 and still up to his old tricks. We have also had 2 female rescues in the past, Sheba and Wriggley. We still miss them both. We have been living in Germany the last 2 years but will be moving back home this summer. -
Welcome! Can't wait to see some pictures of your B!

We've always had rescues and I feel like I've missed out on puppy antics, so I'm debating. Toby doesn't baroo or wag his tail and I really miss being met at the door with a welcome baroo and a tail trying to wag itself off!!

I had a puppy and was getting the urge for another but now we have a 7-mo old foster and I can't take my eyes off her. I remembered I really did not miss that!
