• Wheat, my african village dog, was tested by the old test when she was brought into the country. She was shown to be a carrier. That was a bit shocking as she was the first carrier from Africa that turned u.
BUT with the new test, my sweet girl is shown to be Clear. As she isn't being bred, that is just good information
    to have.

  • One of RMH's village dogs tested Carrier also

  • I didn't realize she had done any testing on her dogs. Thanks for that information.

  • So, curious. First tested carrier and now clear. Sharron, will you strip test her monthly? I know you take such good care of your dogs (and Lou). 🙂

Not Sharron, but it was carrier with the linkage test, clear with the direct test. Should be no reason to strip

This is public info Sharron, very easy for you to look up and/or keep track of if you are concerned she is not testing enough. There are currently 27 OFA entries bearing the Avuvi name-of which I believe 7 (or so) are not Marie's.

As for the Avuvi carrier - it is via the linkage test so it too might be a clear via the direct.

  • Hooray for Miss Wheat.

  • Linda, thanks for this information. As they aren't basenjis. I don't keep track.

  • Fran. As Pat said, I understand I don't have to strip test them, but it's cheap and easy, so if its decided I need to
    I am happy to.
    Hugs to you.

  • Patty, thanks for the note. I told Lisa not to spend the $$ as Wheat is going to always be a virgin, but she wanted to, just for information to share with folks. I can't believe what a treat this little girl is to our family. She came all the way from Africa to find us. We are so lucky.
