Yes, she could be, but also X shiba or any primitive breed with a curly tail ! Anyway, she looks beautiful, and I hope you'll have as much fun with her that I do have with my basenji (12 years old, rescued when she was 4 months old). Enjoy that funny girl ! From France,, Tosca and Magali
Roxy - Basenji x Border Collie (allegedly).

She is lovely Nicola - and what an ideal mix - a basenji that does what its told! Where bouts in Scotland are you btw?
Thanks. Yes, she's a very good girl actually, though has very frequent moments of madness, which is great of course!
I'm in Greenock.
@Shaye's:
She is a lovely dog - and I agree with Elscodobermann that it is an ideal mixture if it results in such a beautiful Basenji-look dog who also listens and behaves!
Thank you. She's great! And does behave herself (most of the time!). :rolleyes:

Yes, technically she barks, though it's not actually a bark, it's more of a mid range seal-like sound! In saying that, she makes all sorts of unusual noises when the fancy takes her!
She weighs 12 kilos.
That's Basenji size at 26lbs. My first was some kind of mix too. Large curly tail and thick fur. Never barked. Heck of a watch dog though. Very protective and tough. She minded really well! She was given to me at 6 months old and lived to be 17-1/2.

Wow, Dan. She is gorgeous and sounded like a fantastic dog. Very similar to Roxy in many ways, looks-wise. However, Roxy is one of the softest dogs I have ever met. She would lick burglers to death, not before requesting a tummy tickle! :rolleyes:

Roxy is goegeous, what a great mix. I love her tail..she looks very friendly..

When I was moving from that very place in 1983 I told a friend to go over and have a look at the place and see if he wanted to take it over. The yard ran all the way around. When I saw him the next day I asked how he liked it and he said he couldn't get in the yard because of the dog. Good job Nipper!!

lovely photos Nicola. Roxy looks a very happy girl.

Wow I got to say that's the only dog I've found that I fancy prettier than a "real" basenji
-
She is really pretty, and looks to be smart as well. Lucky dog!

Hi-
I'm considering adapting a Basenji, Border Collie mix, but I really dont want a dog that sheds a lot. Can you telling me a little bit about what you're seeing in your dog, like what ccharacteristics from each breed you're seeing? Thanks
