@hawaiiboyinsf said in My 17 year old: @jengosmonkey the boys, Shaka & Yoda & I lived in downtown SJ until ‘99, then moved to the city on Dolores street next to Dolores Park so that was their backyard/daily playground. More pics of them on Instagram #ShakaAndYoda. I looked up Delores Park. I know of it, but have never seen it. It's dang BIG! Very nice. Was Shaka male or female? Not to get too personal, but were you in a house or an apartment? With a Basenji... more impressive if an apartment. That aside...to be in a big ol' city like San Francisco with a Basenji, who lived to be 17, I'm clapping loudly while standing. WELL DONE! We, who love our Basenjis, salute you!! I'm not on Instagram, but I just might have to so I can see your pics. Yoda is such a great name for a Basenji. I'd use Grogu or Yaddle on a Basenji in a second if I could. Be well, think happy Yoda&Shaka thoughts and make yourself some Masubi. [image: 14CM-9-9CM-Shaka-Brah-Hawaii-Aloha-Surf-Car-Sticker-And-Decals-Motorcycle-Car-Styling-Accessories.jpg_640x640.jpg]

She is not too old to train, but even saying that, she is a basenji, and no matter the age, a bored basenji will find things to entertain herself, often things we would prefer she not touch. A companion helps, but even so, given temptation a basenji will usually go for it. Think "baby-proof" your house with a baby who can climb, leap, dig and chew. As said above by others, toys which present a challenge will also help.

He is doing really well, she is spoiling him, if possible, even more then I did. He is crated while she is at work, but she comes home and has lunch with him, she lives close to her job, so that works out really good. He has gotten adjusted really well. She dogs sits her nieces dog, a c–ker spaniel on several occasions and Otis and this dog loves eachother, she says Otis has a ball running that little dog in the ground.. ..but yes it is very hard, I still miss him terribly..my kids, the youngest one, keeps wondering when he is oming home again, and if he isn't can't we go visit him? I would love to visit as it sin't far from here, but I know that would not work out for Otis or for us..it would be too stressful for him if we "leave" him again and too emotional for us to see him, yet not bring him with us. I know he has it good, and I know Nina (his new mother) loves him and will do anything for him..that helps me a lot.

Your B Flame is still burning bright, she is beautiful. What makes her so apealing is her experience, she just looks so confident, Like as if to say, "Hey,I've Got This Stuff!" haha!!!!!
