I'm sorry, I probably spoke out of turn - but over here most, if not all, breeders will encourage visits. My pack, even when we were up to 8, of which three entire boys and five nubile ladies, was always open to visitors. Now I no longer breed - anno domini - the least I can do is help wannabe owners to make up their minds. If people are geographically unable to visit me, I can always put them in touch with a breeder nearer to them.
I guess living on a small island has its compensations !
Hello !!!
-
My name is Peter and live in Belgium. My wife "Diane" and I have two Basenji's.
Both are now nine months, one red called Zazou en one tri-color named Ghandi and they are really great! (the pictures are comming later on) I love the dogs and I love the breed. It took some time to get them, they are not so common in Belgium.
But it was worth waiting!I hope that I can learn some more from you all at this forum about the dogs.

Hello and welcome to the forum:D

Welcome to the forum, I joined recently and live near Metz in France. You will learn lots and lots of things on the forum and you will find that everybody is really helpful even if you ask what could be considered as silly questions!

Hello and a big 'welcome' from the Netherlands!
Would love to see pictures of Zazou and Ghandi! Where did you get them from? -
To you all !!!
Thank you for the warm welcome!!!!!!
Thanks for all replies!Zazou comes from the kennel of Abuluka very kind people , very honest!!!!
We had Zazou as a pup, she was 9 weeks old. Very kind dog , very playfull!!!
She is my pride and joy!!!We have Ghandi just from this week. She comes from the kennel "Le vieux bry". We where looking for a playmate for Zazou, my friend and also Basenji owner Alain brought her to us. In the begining it was dificult for us as for Ghandi. But now i can say she is fitting in. She is quit different from Zazou.
She seems more quiet and serious to me. I want to give her a nice and loving home.I put in a picture, i hope it is getting to you. I'm not so good in that kind of stuff.
Greetings to you all
Peter

I saw Ghandi last week! Ghandi Du Vieux bry right? I have her on video while she's in the ring with Alain.
Lovely picture of both your girls!
-
Yes Janneke, that is the new member of our family.
She is now on trial…, but is see no reason to take her permanently. -
Welcome to the pack! What beautiful pups!

Welcome to the pack! What beautiful pups!
Thank you for the compliment Wizard!
I Find 'Avatar' a very beautiful name, deep spiritual you know. Avatar looks to me also a good looking Basenji! … but are there ugly Basenji's , I never came across one.
Greetings from Belgium.

Bienvenue!
Welcome to the forums… beautiful dogs you have! I loved the Red and white.
Lycia and I are in Switzerland... we are also going to start looking for a new platemate for her! -
Thank you for the welcoming, Schouiffy!
Our Zazou (red and white) , we call her the "Paris Hilton" of the family.
She has charm, she is playfull , she got the looks…, I think you see that in the picture.
Ghandi has that not , but she is stabel, relieable, ...and she's the boss!
I love them bouth.
And thats the strange thing about a second dog, you think about a playmate...but you take anhouter personality in your home. And that changes the whole balance of your family.
So, i want to say it is more than a playmate that you take in your home.
But I have no regrets about that decision!Greetings

PeterSorry Wizard,
I understand now that the name of your Basenji is not 'Avatar'.
Every picture on the side of the mail called 'Avatar of …'
Thats the misunderstanding.
I am new to forums, I never found one worth to subscribe...until now.
So forgive me!
Still a lovely Basenji you have.Greetings

Hallo Peter.
When surfing the Forum I noticed that I'm not the only "Basenji-Belgian" !
Furthermore I've read in your introduction that Ghandi is from the "Du Vieux Bry" kennel : we're awaiting our puppy in the beginning of December from them too. And also via Alain ! What a coincidence isn't it.
Maybe we can arrange a meeting next year : if you are interested just let me know.

PeterHey Peter.. Just wanted to say I agree with you about the name Avatar.
My Parson Russell boy Charlie is named "Avatar Charlemagne Veritas"…... By the way your dogs are so cute.

Hey Tsjoe007,
A Basenji "on the way" ? Your first ?
Certainly something too look forth to!Enjoy the first months extra, dogs grow so fast and they are so cute when the are so young!
Always nice to know Basenji-owners are in the area.
The city of Hoogstraten is no so far form Oostmalle, where i work.I'm certainly intrested to have a look at your puppy.
