I was told he only weighed 10-15 lbs. Perhaps he is a Chi/Terrier mix instead.

..we are going to visit a 5,5 year old basenji girl tomorrow.. The owners aren't sure if they can give her up (male owner has health problems) and we are not sure if we want an adult, but we'll meet her anyway.
I'll let you know how it goes..
Good luck! Keep us posted.
(ditto Alex), good luck. The older girls are precious to me. I hope you find it the same. I love my old male, but there's something about an older female that tugs at my heart strings.
I hope she loves you too, as it seems obvious you're already in love!!!
Forever homes are the best homes! Bless you. Dawn from Waukegan, Il.
Heck, 5 is a young pup! I hope she finds a great home - be it the one she's in or yours or someone else's.
5 is just "young adult" for a basenji! I usually won't take a dog younger than 2, I prefer for them to have 'grown their brains' , still young, playful and crazy…but adult!
Hopefully she will find a good home, or maybe with some help, be able to stay where she is.

A big "Hello Ayra" yodel:
As you can see: they had a blast!! Ayra is a very sweet girl, to humans, cats and (most of the) dogs. Mirtillo and she were friends immediately. We'll have to wait and see if she will become Mirtillo's permanent girlfriend.
Way cool photos!
Fingers crossed it works out for you.
Oh what a great looking pair they would make…so glad they got along well.
How cool… they look like they are "made" for each other!
The best dogs I have ever had, just "happened to" me when I wasn't planning on getting another dog. Go with your heart!

They look adorable together. I hope it works out the way you want it too.
They're so lovely together - when will you know if she's coming to live with you and Mirtillo?

I don't know.. I told the owner that she could call/mail me whenever she thought she was ready. We also have to think about it, so I like the fact that we don't have to decide in one day.
