    My name is Esther and I am proudly owned by three Basenjis, one Basenji-Mix and a Galgo-Espanol Bitch.

    We do live on Denmarks Westcoast directly at the North Sea Beaches.

    ok, the name of the Galga is Vega (such as the star, she came from a rescue organization and is about 5-7 Years old). Gromit is the Basenji-Mix (he is already 6 Years now, time runs fast). Jester is the Basenji male (his pedigree name is Old Legend's Anam Chara), he is three and almost a half Year old now. Then comes Banshee (born in December 2006, Pedigree name is Old Legend's Banshee) and finally our youngster: Panda, born in November 2007 (Pedigree name is Lis Glamur Velikaya Panda-Monkey). All the Basenjis are black and white, Gromit is fula black and Vega's colour is kind of cinnamon with a dark (ok, its getting grey now) mask.

    Aggression is an all encompassing term. As pointed out above, there is quite a range! It is not unusual for Basenjis to be dog aggressive. Mine is, and I just avoid other dogs because I know his intentions are not good. Some are same sex aggressive and fine with members of the opposite sex, and some may just be making a statement when they are leashed. If you describe what you are seeing more specifically I am sure lots of people will have common experiences and possible training fixes to share. I would love to see some pictures of Tucker, and welcome to the forum!

    @Basenjimamma: Welcome Susan. I am so sorry to hear about the ban, though I am glad you can keep them still..if I read that right. I am a swedish girl living in Tx, nice to meet other scandinavians on here. I know this forum will be a wealth of information for you.. I am currently basenjiless as well, but is actively searching for a love too. Thanks :) Yes we can keep the dogs we have - so that's nice ! Nice to hear that I'm not the only one from Scandinavia :)

    I look forward to your pictures. I'm a technophobe too - I keep telling myself I can do it but so far haven't posted any. One of my bitches was spoiled for the show ring by such a judge who didn't know how to approach a hound (although he was a Saluki judge and should have!). She was experienced at showing as well but was traumatised because when she backed away at his front on, silly voice approach she nearly fell from the table! Of course she blamed the fall on his approach. I worked on her intensively but to no avail. Yes, Basenjis on the whole are friendly and they never forget a friend either!
