I give copies of any testing done on puppies, however that said, really other then general health check up and shot record, the only other thing that they would have had done is CERF exam and Fanconi DNA testing. New owners get copy along with general records. They have the link to OFA to see all the tests that the parents have had done. Also the results for CERF and Fanconi would be on OFA, so the pup would have that record on the site.
thanks Pat! I was curious. So you just make photo copies of whatever test results you have and then put it in a "kit" that you give them with their new puppy or how do you do it?

Every breeder has their own way of doing things. Even the ones that don't bother to test or just tell people they have "NO" health issues, so no need to test.

With my recent puppy I got a very organized binder with a 3 gen pedigree, a puppy pic at 8 wks, vet checkup results, shots, CERF test, microchip paperwork, a little extra info on feeding, vaccinations, etc. I'm not home right now and can't remember what else was in the binder.
You can put a page in there which has the registered names of the parents and the offa record numbers so they know where to go to get them.

And regarding your statement about Two year Health Guarantee +lifetime Fanconi Guarantee…. first of all, PRA is late onset (usually between 5 & 10yrs) so a 2yr health guarantee is pretty useless. Hips and elbows can't be done until after 2yrs... and about Fanconi... well if you have the direct test done on the sire and dam with Clear results or even Carrier, there would not be any reason for a lifetime Fanconi Guarantee?
And are you going to require spay/neuter in your contract? And under what circumstances would you give full registration?

Yes i have planned my first litter this year. I am breeding my canadian champion Mia (Africanadian Mia Ahmahr Nahrs) to dorsey (zindika svengali determinator. And i have been showing and doing performance. We went to the sioux empire kennel club and she got 2 points and then we went to nationals this year. I am new to showing and it may take a little while but she is a gorgeous girl. I also did lure coursing in PA. She has a Great expression full of wrinkles, nice topline, nice movement, dark chesnut, extremely sweet personality. She is almost completely square, she is 1/2" off with her measurements for being square.
Mia is Fanconi Clear. Eyes Cerf'd Normal, Thyroid tested normal, and her hips are being sent in, tho my vet told me they looked super good and very normal for a dog this age. but they were sent in because i want to have "proof" and I want the "professionals" to tell me exactly what they are.
Dorsey is Fanconi Probably clear. Eyes Cerf'd normal, Hips and elbows are good.
Your right, i never thought about the PRA. What do you offer as a health guarantee? Maybe I will change it to like a 5 year health guarantee. or something. And fanconi, I offer it just to make the owners feel comfortable. I only test with direct now and all of my girls are tested (she is clear, breeding to a probably clear male) I just want owners to feel comfortable that I have a fanconi guarantee. I know that accidents happen (i would never breed intentially and i dont have a carrier male so it wouldnt likely happen but ON THE OFF CHANCE, i like my owners to know that if their puppy would come down with fanconi, I do guarantee it for their own peace of mind. Like you said, not that there would be any reason for one but i just want to have one because it makes me feel better and it makes my new owners feel better.
Yes, i require spay and neuter contract. I have one written up already along with an adoption contract. So i am well off on that. I MAY sell show puppies however it highly depends on the new owner and i require a co ownership too.

Of course!!! I have that in there in bold lettering! That is a responsibility i am very passionate about. If someone cannot keep one of my puppies, regardless of its age, i will take it back, no questions asked. I just want my puppies to be safe and healthy and have permanent homes.

The litter I got my last puppy from all were very nice and could easily be shown, and five out of the seven are. I would have been happy getting any of them. So there is a distinct possibility you could be placing puppies with "show potential" in companion homes, unless you are planning to keep every single dog out of the litter with a chance in the ring. And a puppy that is capable of getting a championship is not necessarily one that should be breed in the future. Pick what you think are the best specimens out of the litter that fit your vision of advancing the breed (hopefully with guidance of your breeder mentors) and your beginning breeding program and go from there and forget the labels.

Thanks! I was planning on keeping a puppy back that i liked myself. Yes i have been working with miahs breeder. I think there is always potential from a litter to be able to be shown. but i guess it just depends on when they are 8 weeks and what we feel are show quality. thanks so much tho for the advice. i really appreciate it

They just want it for breeding and have no intention of following through with showing. Protect your reputation and the reputation of Miah's breeder and the stud owner by being careful not to let pups get into situations like that.

That is very good advice Robyn. Thanks! Ill be sure to be careful. We already have 3 show homes for the puppies so its unlikely we will have anymore than that. Sanda and I are keeping back a couple show home puppies so most likely we will have all pet puppies left. but if the right person comes along, i may allow them a show puppy. but i require co ownerships until the puppy is a finished champion so things like that cannot happen–usually. 
Thanks so much for the heads up tho. Its always nice to get good advice before you make the wrong decisions. I also require i be the Microchip Alternate contact person so if the owner wont get her/him, then i can.
Having a co-ownership on a dog will not stop an unscrupulous person from breeding a dog they get from you. It does not give you that much leverage.
And also I would like to mention that if someone wants to do performance with their dogs, having a conformationally "correct" dog with good structure is important too. They would likely fit in the "show potential" category for choosing dogs. But in that case, the dogs don't need to be intact.
Agree Nemo…. only in the case of a bitch do both (all) owners/co-owners have to sign litter papers.
