Toilet paper trail…..............................

  • I had to laugh when I saw the end of a long trail of toilet paper that went from the entry, through the kitchen, through our bedroom and into the bathroom where the end was still attached to the roll holder on the wall. Jenga must have thought that was pretty funny as he was quite excited at me laughing with me! I am amazed that it was still in tact and that it held together the whole length of his adventure. What a character he is.

  • Ditto! I go through three rolls a week and I live by myself! Most I just bunch it back up but it's always funny to see him so intent on unrolling it throughout the house..such punks

  • You mean, you actually leave your toilet paper in the holder???? And not on the back of the toilet tank like probably 90% of us crazy B owners do????

  • What other breeds do this?!? I thought it was a myth until I saw it happen soon after my puppies got home. What the heck kind of instinct is this in our "primitive" breed? For being such an ancient dog, they sure know their way around modern life…

  • I am such an idiot, I started to say mine never have but realized if I did they would so I am not.

  • Mine is only interested in the already-been-used TP. That is a whole 'nother issue, but at least the stuff on the roll is safe (for now).

  • We have a towel rack up high on the wall next the toilet. So we keep ours up there. Interesting enough, we have magazines that are floor level and neither one of our Basenji's mess with them.

  • hahaha my pup is only four and a half months and he LOVES toilet paper and kleenex… So I make sure everything, including the garbage, are on the back of the toilet! Sometimes I forget and find him sitting on his blanket with a new roll!!! I laugh every time because he gives me this look like he knows what he is doing is wrong!! Needless to say, I have to buy a lot more tp since I got him.

Make sure the bathroom door is shut. My Basenji is got a thing with toilet paper. I don't really understand it, but he will also eat my pack of smokes. Be happy & remember you have a basenji in your life.
    Good luck.

  • Don't forget, B's come from an area where there is not usually indoor plumbing. And don't you know? smokining is bad for your health. He's just helping you quit! LOL

I can leave mine on the roll-only because I keep the door shut. And not because of the B's. Zina, the box(enji) (yes, at six and a half she still thinks she's their size) took it one day and ran through the whole house-it was really funny watching this dog who could barely move at that time, trying to run with TP flying behind her!
