That b/w is a man with attitude ! He'll survive - But talk to Steve Gonto - a great benefactor to our breed. I was delighted to meet him on a visit to our shores many years ago now.

I have a Basenji with IBD, I have her on Hills Z-D prescription hypoallergenic, but I am considering trying raw diet. I am doing my homework now, and joined a raw diet support group on facebook.

Humane is a double edged sword IMO. Yes, they do help dogs, but there are problems with the agency as well. There are many breeds that would now be extinct except for breeders who had the dedication to keep the breed alive. Basenji's would never be known in the world except for dedication of someone who decided to take them from Africa. The Chinook was saved from extinction in 1981 with 11 breedable dogs! So breeders have their place, and definitely the humane has it's place. I don't discount them, there are just two sides to the story. Of course this is MO only!

@lvoss: Instead of a teeter or in addition to, you may want to build a wobble board. These are great for teaching pups to get used to surfaces that move and they can move in any direction and the board moves. I used this with my last litter and they loved it and my girl Sophie has been absolutely fearless about all the agility equipment. http://www.mfrye.com/agilityeq/buja.html Great suggestion and wonderful Idea. Its probably a better choice than I would have made for him. Also thanks for the link on how to build one. Jason

@sircanda: Sally told me that Casia looks just like her grandma. I have seen the first photos when Casia was 3 hours old. She had the cutes face and almost looked like a Shar-Pei puppy. :) So i knew that she´ll be welcomed soon in our family (just had to convince Steve - which was done quickly). Yes the Zandes all have very distinctive heads which I like better than alot of the other heads in the UK.
