I want my basenji to have an African name, so I searched African names via Google. Most of the sites tell you what African language the name is from and what the name means. It was an enjoyable process!
Not to mention what you will call them when you're angry! :) I also like two syllable names, but often end up using one syllable, e.g. "Perry" sometimes gets "Pay", and my horse, "Hero" often just gets "Roe".
With the way Kipawa runs, when he is fully grown we are going to take him lure coursing. I want all of his bones to develop fully before putting too much stress on them.

I love playing with names like this. I like Oakley myself but I think you'll be surprised to know exactly what his name is when you get him home.
