Basenji Meetups & Events

I'm looking for a red and white female puppy that is only a couple of months old for $250 or less around the tennessee area.

I am in Hockley, outside of Houston, cypress area and another owner is in Montgomery, a few are in the heights..we are around here but we are not many.

I'm moving to Lakewood, Ohio, about 40 minutes north of Copley, in two weeks!! There are TONS of basenji people in Ohio, spread out all over the state. I've noticed there is a dog park in Lakewood, obviously that's a bit of a drive for you, but perhaps we could get together for a play date! I've also been told that Ohio has a lot of good dog parks, and I know there are a lot of parks and forest trails and stuff to take your dogs to. I have two brindle girls. Senjishowgirl and Hondo, I'd love to have my guys have some fun with other b's. Are there any dog parks near you all? There are none by me. I'll be moving to Flint here soon for college so I'll check back to see what folks are up to in a few weeks.

It'll be a lil while now til I can make it. Kismet caught kennel cough somewhere (vet says Petsmart, dog park or doggie daycare) :( Plus who knows when I'll get a day off on a Sunday at my new job. Hopefully she'll be better by next month and I can start bringing her out again. :)

This trip is being arranged around Herding Day on the saturday as Lisa is Shelties / Rough Collies, I don't know what is on the sunday. I have been asked if I would like to go but really need the Group 5 or 2 day We seriously thought about going over on Group 2 day to show but have since decided to let Tico's passport lapse. It's an easy journey and we were thinking of going and doing a quick turn around as spectators. Still thinking about it !!!!

Yes, I agree with you Patty, they are not just for Judges. When I did my Confirmation and Movement Seminar I found it really interesting on how various breeds moved and how they fitted in with the function for which they were originally intended. Funnily enough one of the dogs that was helping with the talk was a Basenji !!!! unfortunately I didn't get to over over her for my hands on !!! lol My OH went on his Breed Specific the other day ( Dobes ), and had a brilliant day. You never stop learning, and the day you say you have, you should give up lol !!!!!!

My friend in Torrington has two Basenjis next door so I'll try to contact them too.

I haven't managed to find any Basenji's in my area and Id like to get together with some other Basenji owners and their dogs and let our dogs socialize and let us human's get to know each other. I love Basenji's and I figured it would be awesome to get them all together at a dog park or something and let them play. I figured this would be a great place to throw this idea out there since SO many members are on this site :)
