I remember how excited I was when I got my first basenji, best day ever! Life has never been the same and I couldn't imagine life without my best friend(s)! Congratulations!

Annie Davis, now retired from breeding, had a team of basenjis that she trained as sled dogs. She lives in Idaho.

My dogs wear a martingale collar with their harnesses. I snap the leash onto the ring for the martingale and the harness (I use front clip harnesses) - that way if they ever happen to slip the harness, they are still attached with the no-slip martingale collar.

Jumping into this thread a bit late, but CAN'T WAIT for a semi-local national for me. Auburn is 3 hours north of Portland and I am really looking forward to seeing you all there! I haven't been to a National since Colorado in 2010.

Have you tried the "Whoa dog Whoa" harness? THE best in my opinion for basenjis.

Hi! I live just east of Portland in the Gresham area, I have 2 basenjis that would love a play date or to go on a walk or a hike sometime.
