We tried Jackpot on Merrick & he didn't like it. Then I did a little tast test with Evo & Fromm & he seemed to like the Fromm the best. Hope that this ia good food for him! Anyone have any bad experiences with Fromm?

He is still in bed with us :rolleyes: We will be asking the traininer on Friday when we take him to class & see if she has any input. I just don't understand why it seems like a switch was flipped all of a sudden and he's so psychotic in his crate now, after he'd been very good for several weeks. He's definately manipulated us! (which makes me even more frustrated because I'm a psychologist and I know all about behavior modification and avoiding manipulation with people…but my own dog is getting my goat). LOL. My bf and I joke that its a darn good thing that Jackpot is cute, cuz he gets away with a lot more because of his basenji wrinkles.

Oh, BTW...we heard his yodel for the first time yesterday...melted my heart. 😉

Those are great pics! Kit leaves her bed where it is but she drags the cat's bed over to wherever she feels like sleeping at the time.

Andrea, lethargy around 4-5 months while teething? Dallas turns 5 months next week…could I really be in for some quiet time??? :p He is teething since I have now found two of his baby teeth on the floor!

ha…well, no guarantees 🙂 It is hard to notice lethargy when you only have one 😉 They never seem to wear themselves out!

When Chance got his nasal Bordatella he did the exact same thing for a few hours. When it came time for Kiya's Bordatella we opted for the shot instead and had no problems.
If you are given the option I would just do the shot instead so Jackpot won't have to go through that again. Poor little guy. 😞

We didn't end up going (long story…but our houseguests were still in town and then we had to take Jackpot to the vet for what we thought was a UTI...but turned out to not be a big deal)...so no pictures. I DEFINATELY want to go next year though! I'm sad we missed it. Maybe we can arrange a B-get-together sometime this summer with you and Michael (& our B's of course)!

My Jack always gets really excited when playing and tends to nip and bite a little, but really only Me and DH (not guests or anything) what has been working for me is putting my hands on either side of his face and saying in a really low growling voice "no biting." He usually stops. If he is really wound up and won't stop after this, I give him a time out in his crate. Yeah, I know he isn't a kid, but I kinda feel that if he keeps going I might just lose it on him, you know, yelling….and I know he doesn't respond to that- he just looks at me like I have lost it.

I don't really know if this is "right" or not, but it works for me. I tried the "Ouch" really loud, and redirecting and stuff, but it hasn't been working.

Yes, you have really worked hard to do right by Medjai. He is lucky to have an owner willing to work so hard to stay up to date and in touch with the basenji community to provide the best for him.
