  • I am silly with excitement for you!

  • He is very cute… Can't wait for our pups to be here.

  • He's a very handsome boy and I'm so glad your long wait is over.

He looks as though he's in heaven too. I'm sure you'll have many happy days, months, years to come.

  • Does he have enough toys?????
Seriously, I am so happy for you! He is darling…lucky boy to have found such a great home.

  • woo congrats! what a lovely pup!

  • Congratulations Fran, he is so cute!!!

  • @sharronhurlbut:

Those toys will not be whole after a while. I am delighted you finally got your "little" man home.
Hugs and hugs to you all.
How do the kittys like the puppy?

Sharron, it is going really well! The kitties are showing and telling Kipawa that they were here first. Kipawa just wants to play with them, but they have a hiss that tells Kipawa that close is okay, but nothing more. It's great, I don't have to walk around ensuring the kitties are safe. Tons of thanks to Therese and Kevin for exposing Kipawa to cats!

  • @curlytails:

There he is! I see he's already building quite the menagerie of… toys.
    Cute cute cute.

Uh, yes. The toy box is quite full. Yesterday when we were buying his coat, he grabbed a 5 foot long soft, squeeky boa constrictor off the shelf. So that came home with us. It was fun watching him interact with other dogs in the store - so respectful of them. I know that eventually he will do something needing correction, but this boy is a dream.

  • Oh Kipawa- I know I am going to be the same as you- when my puppy comes home and we go to a store, anything he even looks at will probably come home with us, so happy you finally got your baby and he is a dream!

  • Congratulations! He is so cute. I can't wait to hear more stories.

@TMartin: Looks like he did wonderful! In Loki's puppy class we did the same exercise, with the peanut, regular exercise balls, and barrels placed on their side and with something underneath while upright to make it wobbly. One of the pics I posted of Loki months ago is of him on the peanut. A regular exercise ball is more challenging as you first need to make sure you have a good hold on it and then gradually loosen your hold so it wobbles however much the dog can handle at the time. And of course it is far more unstable than the peanut. I haven't ordered the peanut yet, but now that you are talking about the regular exercise ball, I might go for that instead, because I can use it to stretch out my lower back.

Lovely pictures - he's a handsome boy. Debra - what a coincidence - I too had my first tick this year (or at least Bereke had the tick, not me) and that after more years than I care to remember. My husband remembered seeing instructions on how to remove it luckily!

I give all the credit regarding Kipawa's mellowness to our breeders Therese and Kevin (FoPaw's Basenjis). They obviously did so much work in exposing Kipawa to a number of sounds and experiences. The carwash experience was really interesting. I thought he would be scared of it, but instead he seemed really curious. He especially loved the pink, green and yellow foam bubbles against the windows. Maybe he could pick up that I like them too? :)

Now that's different. I too, have only seen human sonograms. How interesting. Looking forward to seeing the pup(s) upon arrival.
