@LewieFitz: no- antibiotics (for a bacterial infection) would not clear up a yeast infection as it is a fungal infection. You may see some improvement but not a complete cure. You would need an antifungal for a yeast infection. a substance that is know for qualities of anti-fungal,yeast,bacterial is coconut oil. google and read about it, most dogs love it, I use it for cooking and cleaning/treating my cast iron skillet. Also to treat my cutting board as veggie oil goes rancid.

We had organic peanuts (in the shell) this weekend at family camping and a few of them were dropped. Kentucky was brillant enough to learn how to take the nuts out of the shell and take the skin off them. It was amazing watching him hunt for the nuts.

Just a bit on the raw diet-raw digests at a different rate than kibble. Feeding raw with kibble does interrupt the digestion process. They will have diarrhea any time you switch over. No matter how careful you are. I would try something that is raw based, but baked. I know Origen up here is like that-it also has no grains. But there is also Wilderness that is based on the same lines. I find, though, that it has grains in it. Depends on how you feel about grains. It really will be trial and error. I would try treating with the dry kibble first and then building up rather than using the kibble as a meal. Just MO.

when my puppy was teething I would stop up one end with just a dab of peanut butter, fill the rest with water and freeze it. He LOVED it. You could let them play with it outside, but really I diddnt find it too messy even for the house. The ice melts at about the rate the dog licks at it, and the little dribbles are easy enough just to mop up after. I have also put in chunks of apple (no core or seeds) or baby carrots. I also have added peanut butter from time to time. I just throw it in the dishwasher afterwards to clean it. Kong makes treats to go inside as well. Hollie and I have made another trip to the local dog bakery. No more treats that aren't homemade. I am attempting to cook for her too. It's more work, but definately worth the trouble.
