    Where are you located? I have several breeders to recommend in the midwest! In the meantime, checking the BCOA list as Tanza suggested is a good place to start. Be warned though, puppies are being born this time of the year and many breeders have waiting lists!

    Hi rachel, I am looking to find a home for my basenji. Her name is Noel and she is 3 years old. She is a very good girl, lots of energy and very sweet. She knows basic commands. She just needs more time than I can give her. My recently had to take on my 6 month old granddaughter so Noel ends up spending tons of time in her crate.     Schouiffy, there is indeed a Basenji Rescue in the UK - at times there are sevral dogs there but at present there don't appear to be any but you never know! We are very fortunate not to have as many (even proportionately) to the USA. What a pity it would be so expensive and complicated to take some of the USA Basenjis. There is often a waiting list for rescue Basenjis here so it's often possible to rehome dogs direct from the original home.. Debra - it is unusual for a club officer to have this position but unfortunately the other coordinators resigned and nobody could take on the job. I don't think that there are the dedicated people here that you have in the USA and Canada. I do admire the hard work that is put in to rehome Basenjis there.

    Hi, welcome to the forum, nice to see someone elase from the UK here. Please tell us a bit more about your Basenji, have you any pics ? :D We lost our Basenji boy last year and have now got a 5 month old Puppy girl, Malaika. When we were looking for a Pup we were advised to go to shows to identify breeders.

    @JazzysMom: Keoki, regardless of how truly stunning he really is ;) , is destined for pet-hood per my husband. Which is fine, because all we ever wanted was a dog to snuggle and hike with!:D You have two (2) really beautiful Basenjis. How wonderful that you and family made room for three (3) deserving pets - and with Jazzy a show winner! Hat's off to you and your amazing large family! Truly . . . :)
