Welcome, and bless you for adopting wonderful older dogs. 7 & 11 are wonderful ages, my youngest is almost 11, I still think of him as a youngster.
I think that Rocky is 11 going on 3 years old. We went on a trip to the beach yesterday and he had a great time exploring the driftwood at the base of the cliffs. He was way more active than Roxy, but then again she's the very definition of 'couch potato'.

Wow, I'm amazed you found a basenji on Orcas Island. It's so small.
If it wasn't for Sharron, I'd probably have missed her. Sharron came over to evaluate my house for a potential BRAT adoption, and when that didn't work out, I kept looking. When I saw an email from her about a basenji at the Orcas Island Animal Shelter, I went the next day and brought her home the week after.
i can't believe they haven't been together thier whole lives.
They have their moments together, they have been some squabbles about 'who gets to sit next to me' from time to time. We're working on that.
