I have an alpha female basenji and brought a newborn into our family. I was in the hospital for four days (my in laws stayed with dog and horse), when we came home, we had my Mom bring her new boyfriend. He was a great distraction, but also allowed me some alone time with Cricket. When they left, she noticed the baby in the bassinet and was a bit concerned.
She adapted to the baby, but I don't leave them alone just in case. Cricket is not nearly as jealous as she was, now that he drops food for her at the table, but she did get a bit jealous for a few weeks.
While I was pregnant, I was told that 'the test' was to play baby crying videos on YouTube. How the dog reacts will tell you how they will interact with the baby. Cricket beat the crap out of my phone when I tried… So not a great test! 🙂

Love those - especially the first one, showing one B biting the other's neck - that is SO Basenji - and something I see every time my two are playing with each other - at least I hope it's playing!?!

Incredibly cool! I'd love to see these in person! Thanks for sharing Loki and Freya's mom!

Great pics, thanks for sharing

Those are awesome! I think it's cool that they are wearing some form of collar.
Thanks for sharing! -
Those pics are really neat to see.
But, I have to admit I was a little disappointed after reading the title. I was expecting/hoping/imaging a story of a couple of basenjis that got loose at the Met and were running around enjoying the exhibits.
Ah, well, probably best the basenjis were just artifacts.

I think you should write a children's book! This would be so cute illustrated.
Loki & Freya's Mom, Thanks so much for sharing!

Hehe, I think they would probably be unwinding the mummies (just like they do with toilet paper), chewing on bones, running B500 loops in the hallways, and then taking well deserved naps in the beds on display in the period rooms…

I wish I could draw, because I can so see these as cartooned illustrations in my head. This would make such a cute story book, or coloring book.
