The aka Spring Willow is that who you got your basenji from(like the litter name)? Was the breeders name Laurie? I remember seeing that name(spring willow) when I got my 2 basenjis 5 years ago but i forget.

Look how pink their toes are! I haven't ever seen pups this young. Do all Basenji pups have pink toes? They look so sweet. I imagine their puppy smell - Ahhhhh.

Thanks Duke for saying that….Just yesterday at my office, My receptionist is allowed to bring her dog and I asked her if she liked his puppy smell. She didin't know what I was talking about..I tried to explain it to her. Oah well. I love that smell when they just wake up and they are nice and warm :o

Yes, puppies always have pink toes. The black and whites are starting to get their black pigment on their toes.

lvoss - Now that I think about it, when we got Duke, he was 10-12 weeks old. He had white fur on top of his feet, but ALL his toe pads were pink. As he grew, I noticed some black spots on them. I thought he got in some mud.
Today some pads are still pink, some all black, and some are marbled. He has one toenail that is half black, the rest are white. He also had black & pink nose. Now it's all black. It is interesting to see them grow.It is nice for you to share their growth with us. Please keep the pics coming. Thank you.
