I agree it is fantastic:D he certainly looked like he enjoyed himself.
-
Lovely pics, he looks like he really enjoyed himself.
We would like to try it over here one day, or take them racing, has anyone in the UK tried either?
-
We've done some Lure Coursing with Benji & Nakura a few years ago. Both absolutely loved it. They took to it like ducks to water! We'd love to try it with Chance & Trouper. Les & May are the people to speak to as Skipper has his LCM certificate.

My mum did racing years ago when she lived in Essex, i think it was organised through the Afghan racing club. I would love to give it a go but never seem to live anywhere near where they do it, though have found out that they do beagle racing in Scotland not far from where we will be living and have been told by the organiser that we can go along for fun races:D
-
I had heard of the beagle racing in Scotland. We used to run Afghan racing in our area, they absolutely loved it, but unfortunately the premises were sold and the new owners wanted to keep it private. I know Jane G used to go somewhere with hers though.
We do have lure coursing about an hour from us at Newbury but I don't think it is very secure fencing wise. I do hope you get to run yours when you come back, we will definitely want pics!

That is one of the problems finding a secure place to do the coursing:rolleyes:
Yes I'm looking forward to doing the racing, though the season will be over by the time we get moved back but it starts again in March so won't have long to wait. Will take lots of pics:D -
Love the pictures, fantastic!
A friend of mine has an Afghan he does lure coursing with - just for fun. They do it on a greyhound racing track. Apparently they have all sorts of breeds turn up - even little terriers. I hope to give it a go with Maya in the future, she would love it
-
I think they still do Whippet racing near the Blair Drummond Safari Park. I've never been myself as I was told that the fencing may not be Basenji proof!
-
Great photos, especially the one leaping over the mud! Tillo looks like one huge muscle!
-
Those are some amazing muscle carrying Tillo over that mud..look at him fly.
As usual the pictures are a dream.
I actually really love the last pic, when he has his prize in his mouth, well deserved. -
I would absolutely love to try some lure coursing, us folk in the UK will have to get in touch with Les and May. It would be great if we could all meet up!

That's definitely my favorite pic as well! I was like  when BF showed it to me.. How much energy can you put in NOT getting muddy paws..
And he does look muscled, doesn't he? Mommy's skinny boy

Lovely pics!! Do not the dogs wear muzzled? Can you compete in lc in the Netherlands?

No, it was only training. You don't have to muzzle the dogs then. Some were though. In the Netherlands Basenjis can't compete in LC, unfortunately..

That is to bad. You have to move to Sweden;)

Great Shots, Janneke!
I will go to LC Training with Jester and Panda next weekend (June 27th). If Panda understands what to do, I will enter her and Jesty again for Trainings for their Licens. The funny thing here is, that they can get a LC licens, but they cannot competeโฆ.. well, Sweden is not that far.... the Training here is organized with the Danish Sighthound Club and will be held on a professional Greyhound Racing Course. Well, I definetely dislike professional abused Dogs, but the Field is very good for that purpose....
I hope my camera will be fast enough to get a few pics of the first race.....
If the dogs are racing together they have to wear muzzles here, if they start in a solo race they are allowed to run without the muzzle...Regards,
Esther
