Daddy.. what's she doing..?

Basenji Talk
  • Ok.. this is too funny..

Sometimes I'm in a crazy mood and put the music on a 'bit' louder volume and dance a bit.. I really hadn't noticed this before.. but Tillo gets a bit scared of me when I do this! He looks at me like… .. then walks over to BF, looks at him like....thinking: "What is she doing".. and stands behind his legs, again looking at me like..

When I stop everything is back to normal :D

Haha.. I'm really not a bad dancer.. :(

    ;)

  • That's funny! I can see him holding onto BF and looking at you with fear in his eyes!

  • OMG, that is hilarious!!!:D My cats hate it when I sing, they actually get mad at me and get up in my face and try to swat at me or bite my arm! Which is funny because I sing in a choir and have been repeatedly encouraged to do solos!!! So maybe in the cat world I am awful:o, but in the human world I'm OK.

Haha, funny you mention the singing.. because Tillo thinks it's ok when I sing.. and in the human world…. well... you know.. ;)

  • When I'm practicing guitar & singing, my 2 Bs will come into the room & lay in their crates. I've seen videos on utube with b's "singing" to piano accompaniment - very funny. Not into the dance thing & don't want to go there - not pretty - I'm afraid the 2 Bs would probably leave home:-)

  • You guys got me laughing as I picture "Elaine" from the 'Friends' TV series when she thinks she's the great dancer, and she really appears to be in some sort of zen spaz attack.:D

  • Speaking of Friends, don't forget about Phoebe "singing" and playing guitar… LOL:eek:

I think you are thinking of Elaine from Seinfeld…. but that is exactly what I was thinking of

You can find a lot of puppy collars at thrift shops for pretty cheap - would never pay full price for one. I'm getting mine at 14 weeks and was told that 8-12 inches was what was being used - then at 4- 6 months graduate to 10-14 inch collar.

I'm afraid If I do decide to get another I won't have a chance to introduce them beforehand as it Will probably be a puppy I bring from the US.. I doubt there will be a problem since she will be a young puppy…

This is the main problem right now, I suppose. The civil war's in the Republik of Kongo. I have been talking to a owner of Avongara Basenjis, who's daughter has been in Afrika with the last big expedition. And she had the same thoughts than I have: we thought, that if there are some Basenjis left (the ones which have not landed in the cooking pans), they are spread all over the forrest regions. Most of the human inhabitants of this region have left their houses for the next bigger city to find a little security and help there…. it is absolutely horrible, what mus go on there. But similar actions in other parts of Africa (Mali and Burkina Faso are always at the border of war like actions) plus in lots of these areas there are now many refugees from other areas which make the problems not easier for the habitants....http://www.azawakh.com/azawakhfriends/english/index.html Regards, Esther

@basenjibratz: It's wonderful seeing a basenji run. They are usually the smallest in the big dog parks but they sure can keep up. When I use to take Talker to a make shift dog park (four enclosed baseball fields) he would run with a border collie. The border collie would always be chasing Talker and the humans were always amazed at his speed and how he was never panting while the border collie would be panting up a storm. It was wonderful to see him stretched out in a full run. Trixie's Daddy should be proud at his girl and so should you. :) Yes I have had several people comment that after a full run Trixie is looking at the other dogs like "why are you panting?" They have often asked me if she ever seems to get tired, my reply is always yes but it takes a while! They are beautiful to watch run! Everytime I watch her it amazes me!

I think I saw Sophie on a b video website and I was so glad that someone else's B made that noise I showed it to my husband and daughter. Thanks for posting that video because as a new B owner we thought we had some kind of devel dog!!! She does it the most to our oldest dog Josie. There are nights she even does it from under our covers in bed when she hears Josie moving out in the living room. Too Funny!!!!
