on the heat of the sun???? Basenji love the heat. If you had a fireplace, it will be within inches of the hot logs.
Is my dog a Basenji? Can you help me figure it out?

Hello.
After a year or so of thinking my rescue-shelter dog was part jindo-shepherd, maybe lab maybe pit maybe something else, and after a year or so of searching for these mixes on the internet I think I have figured out that she is a basenji mix! She has all the characteristics of a basenji….she might be half jindo as well....but I am still trying to figure it out....what do you guys think????
thank you!

She is very cute, not sure I would say Basenji.. but you are welcome all the same

For about $60-$70 you can find out what she is, with a DNA test. I have seen it in an Orvis Dog Catalogue, and also in Jefferspet.com.
She is very cute, how big is she?

My guess would be probably not a basenji mix.
I agree with your guess.
Lab pitbull mix.
Definitely lab coat and lab body, and definitely pit head.
If you really want to know, you can pay to get a DNA test done to
determine what kind of mix she is.As long as she is a sweet loving dog, who cares what kind of
mixes is she, right???Again, welcome aboard!

She is super cute! Gorgeous white coat. I have basenji mixes. Daisy is Basenji-beagle, and Duke is Basenji-jack (I think) I don't care to do the dna test, because - I love my furkids just the way they came. Welcome to the forums - lots of fun and information on about everything.

i'm not a B expert, but can see it could be a B mixed with pit. The ears, black nose and oval paws are characteristics of a B. I think the behavior/attitude would be more indicative of the breed. Do you see any wrinkles in the forehead?

She sure is cute. I don't see any basenji though. Maybe part Jindo, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korea_Jindo_Dog

I don't see any Basenji in her but she is a gorgeous dog! Jindo is a very rare breed but with the largest of its populace being located in California, there is a possibility it could be a Jindo mix. Her body screams Labrador to me though.

What a cutie. I don't see any phisical characteristics of a B in her, but her face, ears, and body look identical to a sheperd/lab mix I owned many years ago.(one of the most loyal dogs I have ever had the pleasure of working with)

Don't most dogs have a black nose?
All of mine have – yellow lab, doberman, corgi, golden........

I don't see any Basenji there. Was it behavior characteristics you were referrign to?
She's cute though – you'd lose her in a heavy fog, LOL.

I would bet that your dog is mostly Korean Jindo. Looks almost identical with the exception that most Jindo's have slightly longer hair. Jindu and a mix of a dog with shorter hair.
