Coyote attacked my "B"

Basenji Talk
  • Sharron,
They are mostly active morning and evening. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Open areas to run your "b's" is a good idea. Just keep a watchful eye, and have some really tasty treats with you to get the dogs to come when you want. I run mine off leash all the time for 6 years where there are coyotes. Just keep alert, you'll be fine.-Tim

  • Thanks Tim. I appreciate your post.
It will be all new for us all, so treats it is.

The coat looks gorgeous - it's just the skin…I have noticed since it is persisting it down here (and cold - well it is Summer...) that the flaking is much better - I wonder if the flat is too dry for him? It has got central heating...which is till occasionally switched on - and it's nearly June :(

Great job Crystal and Cody:). Macpac says it all when it was stated "Kudos to you for teaching him to love and be happy. " We sometimes forget that the baby-step advances with an in home raised puppy (as difficult as that is at times) is really nothing compared to the difficulties and patience needed when an older dog, abused, neglected, or just plain unwanted/emotionally devoid Basenji is adopted in a home. Baby steps for others, can be a GIANT grand canyon type leap for a rescue/rehome and their family. Congratulations for jumping the Grand Canyon:D

Neither of mine will catch food, it hits them in the face and falls to the floor too. They're both pretty good at catching toys when I tell them to but do get bored with that game rather qiuckly.

Sahara does not like the dark either, I have to go out with her for her evening potty runs. She gets out there and if I am there she will go in the front or back, but will look around the side of the house to make sure I am still there. She is so funny.
