    I would be interested in hearing what type of toys have lasted in your house.

    We swear by Nylabones and Kong but I recently tried this tire rubber material toy and was disappointed.

    Zahra loves stuffed animals too but they do not last long in this house.

    Anyone else have some favorites?

    Some of my fav's that have lasted: Sergeant’s Buddy Glow Ball, Busy Buddy Squirrel Dude, the Talk to Me Treat Ball, and the big black kong.

    as for stuffed ones… I will buy stuffies on clearance ($1-$3) and let my dog destroy them ... no huge loss. But if I get a NICE one ($10+), it's "my" toy. My dog gets to play with it WITH me, and is not allowed to rip it to shreds. I find he respects the toy more if it's "mommy's toy". this way the toys lasts, and being given permission to play with it is one of the BEST rewards he can get.

    Green bunny is the survivor at our house. Abbey has tons of animals that we rotate but bunny is her number one favorite. She also likes her squirrel ball with a battery. You push the button and he goes all over the house by himself. She's figured out how to corner him against the wall to turn him on! He had a big bushy tail for about 5 minutes. I like to get the really tough animals at Petsmart that are practically indestructible. Abbey doesn't like anything made of rubber. If it talks to her, sings, or plays music she's all over it!

    I know this thread was from a while back, but I really like the 'tuffie" toys.
    Not totally shred proof but well made and the "tuff"est soft toy I have found at shops. They are very cool.

    The only toy goober hasn't detroyed or rejected is the first toy he ever had. one of those ropes with the two big knots and all the tassles.

    We just bought the tricky treat ball and she has not stopped playing with it for over 20 minutes, this thing is great. We had a buster ball before but it was made of hard plastic and was really loud.
    She loved orka toys when she was a puppy, but chews them up way too quickly now.
    She also loves Nylabones, especially the great big one that looks like a femur.

    I see your post was back in Jan. so I hope you have your new basenji settled in. I also adopted a beasenji in Jan. She is my second. I adopted a 5 year old to be with my 3 yr. old, who had had 2 litters in the past and was bred for a 3rd one, but didn’t get pregnant. So the breeder, the same breeder our boy came from, decided to let her go to a forever home. I had to wait quite a while for her to be ready and I felt just like you. I couldn’t wait! I kept texting the breeder questions, request for photos, etc. When we picked her up she seemed comfortable with us right from the start. She has been a wonderful addition to our family, a good match for our 3yr. old boy. He’s a toughie but I think he’s met his match with her. He’s so much happier with his own friend. They love to be together. I hope your new pup is adjusting just as well as mine. Have fun. I think they make us laugh every day. Yes, you have to be on your toes with these guys, you have to make them a big part of your life. They can never just be a fixture. They are work but it’s worth it all. 3 years ago I was a newbie but not anymore, and I’m loving this wild ride.

    Kaiser doesn't really have any except his game of steal the humans clothes or whatever mum forgets and leaves in his reach, I know he has something because of the wooden floors as I can hear his prancing around sound, does love his kong ball which has a hole in it which I stuff with freeze dried tripe which when he can't be bothered getting it out plays " here human get it out for me" and bugs us with it until we relent, bugging the cat is a game he likes but doesn't last long as the cat has other ideas.     Mine like the Buster Cube, and similar balls that hold kibble. Also stuffed animals (garage sales, thrift stores), and the anmials that make repeating noises with a squeeze. Nicky likes baby toys, like the ones that you pull a cord and it plays music. They have favotire stuffed toys they have had for years, and others die quickly. Nicky loves to steal my shoes and eat them, my husband bought her a purse of her own at a garage sale, lovely leather. She has been slowly working on it for many months, knows it is HERS. Mine have almost never liked real dog toys. Anne in Tampa

    You could also try the small RC cars. The B's really like it as well as this little helicopter thing I have. They also like my furry blue pig-but they can't have that one!!
