Mia the Basenji a.k.a Interior decorator/destroyer

Basenji Talk
  • she does look innocent, especially when she's done something wrong and she looks at you with the "cat from Shrek" eyes lol…I think they made Basenjis extra cute so we wouldn't get mad when they do things like this! :D

  • Are you sure she's the one who ripped up the carpet
She's too cute to have done something like that!

  • Hey guess what! Trixie did not like any of our carpet in 2 (yes I said 2) rooms. One being our bedroom and the dining room. She could have the carpet peeled back like a banana in about 2.3 seconds. We now have hard wood floors. She also did not like the wallpaper by her food and water bowls. That has now been replaced with just paint. I have got to get her one of those shirts!!! We think someone should hire her to help redecorate houses since she has done such a great job with ours!!

  • BWWWAAAHHHHHHH!!!! that is hysterical! The look on her face is priceless :D :D "what? what happened??….you mean you don't LIKE it??" LOL!!!

  • lol I still have a plastic table lying over the newly placed tiles so she doesn't rip the carpet even more. I have to find those transition strips to place over the edge of the carpet asap lol.

Hahaha. I told Mark that the other day! I was saying that if he does something bad it's so hard to be angry for more than 5 seconds because he looks at you with those "puss-in-boots" eyes! :p The wrinkles on the forehead certainly bail them out of a lot of trouble I'm sure!

  • At least you did not tie a dead rat around her neck

    Very funny!

lol now there's an idea hahaha

  • Doe eyes argh! They get me every time!

  • We have the most awful burber carpet in the apartment and Scarlett decided that whoever put it in needed to come back and fix it cause they left connection lines under the bedroom door and in the middle of the living room floor. She pilled it up and like burber tends to do it left awful messes and huge bare spots in those areas. Sounds like she and Mia should open up an interior design shop! :)

  • This is funny, but I wonder, do you think the b's smell something "wrong or off" with what they distroy?
Be it a dog who once lived there, something someone else pee'd on or just
something we tracking in on our shoes?
It sometime seems so random, what they decide to "take" or leave.
anyway, thought I would put this out there!

  • I'm convinced they smell/sense something from previous occupants - my previous beastie initially peed on all the spots the previous owner dogs messed (they were slightly discolored so you could tell) and the same thing happened at my brother's house - even though he twice scrubbed his carpets.

So I've not given up on this. I went back to rainshinefoundation.org.au and researched it a bit. It looks legitimate to me, and I'm really skeptical. This isn't an endorsement. They claim they are funneling the majority of donations back to the people they are providing assistance to. I could get behind this. Is a Basenji Hunting Bell worth $300 USD? In my best Texas accent, "Hell Yeah!" If they really are sinking the percentage of money they receive back into direct support as they claim on their website... it's hard NOT to get behind that. I'm still trying to verify that. Feel free to chime in. Coconut is too big. Western Buckeye is too thin. If the above is legit... I don't want to compete. I don't want to make something that mimics those from Africa. If it's legit... I'd rather support the cause and spend the $300 USD. So mine have to look different. They have to resonate sound. Which wood? CNC engraving? Laser engraving? Slots? Collar? Clasp? How do I support Basenjis? Tooling is going to cost a bit. I think I have have the bell figured out. I may also have the clappers figured out too, but I need to test all of this. The part that concerns me is the collar. Weaving, macramé, braiding, sewing... Anyway... these are thoughts in motion...

She's gorgeous - Probably Basenji in there somewhere, yes, Beagle though ? only the colouring might suggest it. Try a DNA test if it really matters !

I take Blaze to the second home pet resort just north of Leduc. Even though he's eaten several leashes, blankets, jackets, and caused general mayhem, they take amazing care of him, and always smile when we come in. They follow his medical needs and keep me updated. I get the medium kennel, which is indoor and outdoor, and they let Blaze play with the big dogs, which he prefers…
