I have been taking Mica to a "rally-1" obedience training at the novice level. This involves doing sit, down, 360/270/turns, left turn, right turn, walk slow, walk normal or fast, weave inbetween cones, and she likes it as a challenge to do things alot of it is at the "heeling" side and than there is front and around the back to the side, too - But I think she will be going to an agility class someday - she likes to balance on and walk for 10-12 feet on logs in the water by the swamp, and also across the dried river beds in the woods, and run through the culvert at the dog park. She has also jumped through a hoop at the dog park. It seems to challenge her. She likes to be kept active.

Dog Property Laws
-
1. If I like it, it's mine.
2. If it's in my mouth, it' mine.
3. If I can take it from you, it's mine.
4. If I had it a little while ago, it's mine.
5. If it's mine, it must never appear to be yours in any way.
6. If I'm chewing something up, all the pieces are mine.
7. If it just looks like mine, it's mine.
8. If I saw it first, it's mine.
9. If you are playing with something and you put it down, it automatically becomes mine.
10. If it's broken, it's yours. -
If mommy goes in the other room the book is mine.

Tucker's "laws" are more like:
1. If I like it, I can look but not touch.
2. If it's in my mouth, mom will take it away quickly.
3. If I can take it from you, I'd better not, or I'm in MAJOR trouble.
4. If I had it a little while ago, I'll consider myself lucky.
5. If it's mine, it's also yours.
6. If I'm chewing something up, I've been given permission to do so.
7. If it just looks like mine, it's probably mom's.
8. If I saw it first, it's definately mom's.
9. If you are playing with something and you put it down, I can look at it.
10. If it's broken, the cats did it. -
A sad truth:
- If I chew it apart, the trash can gets to finish the job.

LOL … I found this poem in a sightdog website.. my first reaction ... OMG !!! It had to be about basenjis ...thought was cute had to share !!!!

Both poems are cute. I hope I can maintain the "Tucker's Laws" as this is how my 10 month old B came to me from the breeder. I hope I don't mess up!!

10. If it's broken, the cats did it.I hadn't seen this before….I gotta say, this is ideal, but with the exception of #10, it is clear that Tucker CANNOT be a full basenji...and if he keeps up this kind of behavior, he will have his basenji card revoked
Our first basenji pretty much adheres to these property laws...but it all goes down hill from there with the others

nope, his better-behaved half is all boxer. and he's really only THAT good 'cause he practically has a Phd in obedience.
