Just received the DNA results from Embarkvet.com - not a drop of Basenji in Lucy's gene pool. She is 46% Pit, 23% Min Pin, 7% Chow, 6% Siberian Husky, 6% Rottweiler, 6% Boston terrier & 6% supermutt. Even though she's not in the Basenji gene pool, this is a great forum as she seems to have a number of B traits & behaviors. I find all of the advice helpful. Thanks everyone for your input!

@Kipawa: He's got so much character in his face! Quite the cutie. Does he take his half out of the middle of the bed? ;) Most definitely, lol. He starts out all curled up between us, but if either of us moves, he pushes his legs out and sleeps like he's in rigor mortis as if to keep us from moving into "his space". It's going to be interesting when he gets bigger…might have to use him as an excuse to get a king size :p

Thank you very much for the info. I will have to try the time out. He was crate trained as far as being house broken, but now when I put brownie in the crate all he does is whine.. I do have 2 older dogs. one that plays with him and the other, well he just growls at brownie. The mother that was there when I got Brownie was a white shepard, maybe that is where the broad nose comes in.
