I'm sorry - I laughed when I applied ketchup all those years ago, and your post had me in fits of hilarious memories ! What we learn as we live with Basenjis !
Tea Tree Oil
-
Akeyla - fish oil works good for dry skin and coat - feed as supplement or buy treats with fish in them.
+1
I use this a lot during the winter months. Makes a noticeable difference in their coat.

Okay great! I'll try the fish oil. She is acting like she has fleas, but I know she doesn't so I'm guessing it's dry skin.

What are you feeding her? Could be allergies to the food….

I was just going to suggest this. It could be allergies to food or anything else.
Fish oil will still help even if it's allergy related (along with changing the food if it is a food allergy). I give Kananga Benadryl every now and then when he's frustrated. Calms him down and he doesn't seem to be as affected anymore. But his allergies are beyond food related. I'm already using a 100% grain free food.

That's good to know about. Noel just ripped up my new cushions on my patio funiture. I'll have to try this.

Where do you get tea tree oil. I went to the pet store today and couldn't find it.

Try a CVS or Walgreens. They have it. But keep in mind it doesn't come cheap. I think I picked up an oz for around $10.

Another place is a health food store or the health food section of a supermarket.

It is typically not in a pet store as it is a human item…... it is usually in the health food/medicine section of your local grocery store...

I found a tea tree spray (aka melaluca) at the local, large feed store. In the horse sections with all the other good stuff.
